Thank you to everyone who made the effort to come out today and shoot. The Major Waldron's Sportmans Association did well once again thanks to you all. A total of 56 rounds of either trap or skeet being shot.

Parker shooters in attendance were, myself, Scott Kittredge, Bill Janelle, John Dunkle, Bob Weeman, Bob Fabian, Frank Cronin, Austin Hogan, Robin Lewis, Dean Romig, Dave & Danny Suponski and Greg Miller. (If I missed somebody speak up).

Thanks to Bob Fabian, Robin Lewis and Bob Weeman we had some very yummy food for lunch. Bob Fabian's homemade mac and cheese with ham was the best mac and cheese I have ever had!

The informal 100 target program consisted of 50 trap targets, 25 skeet and 25 modern skeet. 12 Parker shooters completed the program. The reigning champ from 2009 and 2010 felt sorry for me and shot his last round of skeet left handed with his eyes closed leaving the door open for me to take Hi Gun with an 89, 2nd was Scott Kittredge, 83, 3rd Frank Cronin 72.

We also shot a modified Annie Oakley or Protection with 5 two man squads shooting from the 27 yard line. Each two man team was a 12ga shooting first with a 10ga shooter backing him up. The winning team was Austin Hogan 12ga and Frank Cronin 10ga (Fortunately for Austin, Frank had used up all his BP loads and then proceeded to beat me with my own reloads!)

Frank Cronin stole the show by shooting trap with a 12+ lb, 34" 5 frame 10ga hammergun and shooting 4 dram blackpowder 1 1/4 ounce loads. Standing anywhere near the trap line you could feel the ground shake each time he pulled the trigger.

A big thank you to John Dunkle who brought a most wonderful Parker Gun calendar door prize for each shooter.

The NH weather today was simply fantastic, bright sun and a high of 58 degrees, it just doesn't get much better than that for this time of year in NH.

A happy, healthy and prosperous 2011 to everyone involved!

Here are some more pictures, great collection of guns! Before the shooting began everyone stood around the gun rack and checked things over. We had a few new faces so we got to meet and get to know one another and talk to "old" friends too.

:corn:Then the shooting began but it wasn't easy to get everyone going. Organizing the squads was not easy and the start was a little slow but once the gang got going there was a lot of fun and laughs.

:shock:If you are wondering why John is rummaging around in the trash bucket.... I am too.

The last pictures are of a squad shooting skeet, note no blowing snow and no heavy coats this year!

Great day! Only 365 more days and we do it again, I hope!

Before I get back to gun cleaning.....

A special thanks to Pete Lester who really did a FANTASTIC job at keeping all the shooters in the right squads and things moving along throughout the day.. Pete - I know your role is sort of like herding wet, angry cats across an open field with a wet noodle, but you did an incredible job... Thank you...

The food was wonderful... Robin, Bob F., Kathy, Bob w., Pete (if I forgot a few, sorry!!!) - simply amazing...

Congrats to Scott K. for almost being the high-gun for the day, again (it's about time - but I heard you lost by 1/2 a target????? ;) ) I also understand Bill & I tied for "some place"?

To the rest of the folks....

I simply had a wonderful time....

John

Dave Suponski 01-01-2011 07:30 PM

Danny and I had a wonderful time as usual! How often do you get to shoot in a t-shirt on New Years Day?! Great food...great people and some fantastic Parker Gun's...must have been 30-40 Parkers there. Everything from .410 to 10 gauge.

Pete, Thanks for putting on a great shoot.....
