Patch

Destry,

I know you have been thanked many times, but I wanted to add to the list again.

Thank you for your efforts in getting these done for the members. I am sure these will be a keepsake no only for the members now, but those that they are passed along to in the future.

Funny thought: Might these become an item of barter. Imagine a "close' gun deal somewhere in the future, the guy won't quite come to center, would one of these tip the scale? Methinks it might be so in the future, limited edition, collector grade! Destry, I admire a man that takes something like this on and sees it through. Too many of this type of thing wind up as all talk and no DO. I'll be sporting one slap in the middle of the back panel on my favorite field vest. To be seen and admired by all!

Destry,
My check will be in the mail tomorrow, 9/30. Thank you for your dedication to this project.

Destry delivers! Shame on any doubters

William Woods 10-02-2020 08:07 PM

Destry,

I sent you a PM.

Randy G Roberts 10-02-2020 08:15 PM

Got mine today, both of them. Oh yeah, really nice. Very well done. Thank You Sir

Now do we have any suggestions on a vintage style shooting-sporting clays vest ? Is there even such a vest available ?

William Woods 10-02-2020 08:36 PM

I did receive both of my patches today. Very nice, a real keepsake. Thanks again to Destry.

Destry L. Hoffard 10-02-2020 09:02 PM

The only worry I have left is a failure on the part of the post office. With this many packages I guarantee you there will be one that will take forever to arrive and I'll have to sweat. I've got tracking numbers on everything so we should hopefully be alright. I just had a package take 6 weeks to get to California.....

Randy:

A while back, to get the discussion going, this is what I had proposed for something in a suitable garment to serve as an adequate “canvas” for America’s Finest Gun Club Patch.

All possible, thanks to Destry, a proven accomplisher.

keavin nelson 10-07-2020 09:59 AM

I liked mine so much I put a check in the mail for a second one!

Two patches? Makes sense.

One serves as a “user”, proudly worn on a vest at the range or in the field; another framed for display (but never in direct sunlight) in gun room or “man cave”.

Future generations will debate the value of the original-condition, never-worn patch, versus the one with honest wear for which there is provenance connecting it to an identifiable early 21st Century Parker gun enthusiast.

parker patch

Wow, wow, and wow. Brilliant colors on the patch and a fantastic surprise to take it out of the envelope this afternoon. The specks started showing up last week on the neighbors and there are about twenty honkers flying around in the mornings. So, fall is in the air here in California and this patch shows up at the right time to get the feeling of hunting season started.

Need to get the boot room in order, guns out of the safe and on the racks, and get this patch displayed to set the mood.

Thanks very much Destry; the almonds are at the huller but have not been run yet. They will be shipped when done. Again, thanks for your efforts.

Michael Moffa 10-09-2020 08:10 PM

Dropped the patch at the frame shop today for a custom treatment. It will take about three weeks to get done. I'll post pick when I get it. Now to get number two on a shooting vest.

Again, thanks Destry for taking this on.

I did the exact same thing today myself. My better half told me that it was going to be expensive. She was correct. Supposed to take about a month. I will report back with pictures also.

Michael Moffa 10-10-2020 05:27 PM

Yup, good work is not cheap, Oval chamois double mat with archival non glare glass and ornamental woodwork frame. Came to $200 but well worth it. As they say, a thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Destry L. Hoffard 10-12-2020 07:33 PM

Been slow to update here, trying to do a bit of traveling before winter hits. I've got payments in hand from:

Destry's patch proudly displayed, opening day of quail season. Haven't gotten the framing done for wall decoration one yet.

Destry L. Hoffard 11-08-2020 03:24 PM

Looks good!

Keith Doty 11-08-2020 03:51 PM

The patch and the VH20 looked far better at the end of the day than the dogs and I. We had a bunch of rain in late September and October, that grass was knee deep when Whitewing opened (early September) and now is waist high nearly everywhere and chest deep in places. Tough walking, tough for dogs to work. Badly needs a killing frost.

Corey Barrette 11-08-2020 10:20 PM

Impressive on a wall or vest. Looking forward to the second edition!

Destry L. Hoffard 11-13-2020 12:34 PM

The lady who handles my manufacturing has been out with a dose of The Covid but she's off quarantine as of today and back to work on Monday.

Yikes! I am doing the vaccine study, so hopefully I am immune (assuming I didn't get the placebo)
