The problem is the clean up and the powers that be putting sand and salt on the roads. Problem is in Georgia, our powers that be don't know how to do that. I actually like cold weather and have been loving this winter. Lots of my favorite things take place in cold weather. Duck hunting, for example

You Southern boys are just to used to haveing a cushy winter, suck it up boys and burn some powder. It's just a little winter, if we had your weather it would be sun screen and cold beer:rotf:

How about join us at Drake's in August? No water or break until we finish a 100 round:rotf:

We got hit pretty hard and pretty fast today with 5 inches of snow followed by a nice coat of ice/freezing rain. I have a 20 minute drive to work, and it took me over four and a half hours to get home today. I left the office at 12:45 when my company shut down, had to pick up my son from school, and didn't get home until 5:30. :crying: Every road was complete gridlock, and people were abandoning cars left and right on the side of the road because they couldn't make it up hills. I crossed my fair share of medians, drove on the opposite side of the road, and even flattened a stop sign (which was kind of fun) thanks to a slide downhill, but we made it. We are supposed to get more ice and freezing rain tonight, and possibly some additional snow tomorrow afternoon. The forecast for Friday and Saturday however is in the mid 40's and sunny. I can't say what the roads will be like down here by then, but I'm hoping the DOT will have the main roads cleared and that 45 degree temps will help with the melting. I will give you guys an update here as I know more. My potential challenge for shooting Friday is that my wife left for Boston today and was supposed to be home tomorrow night, but her flight has already been cancelled. I took off all day Friday so I could shoot, but I'll have my 4 year old son to look after until she gets here, which could mean I'm out for Friday unless other arrangements can be made. I should be good to go all day Saturday though.

With this winter weather and not knowing how it will affect attendance, I haven't contacted Dan Andrews about doing lunch for us on Saturday yet. The last thing I want to do is ask him to prep a big lunch for 9 people and then have us not be able to come. I will try to call him tomorrow and see what his thoughts are on the subject. I hope it all works out, as I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and burning some powder on a great course.

It is a real mess on the coast of SC-bad ice storm and more damage then most any storm since Hugo. Power is out for who knows how long. What do y'all think about slipping this a week? Next Sat is supposed to be sunny and 70?
David.

Our only issue next week is getting child care, but we are otherwise free. We will do whatever the group decides.

I had wished that I could attend but I can stay in Michigan for cold and snow!

Mike.Smith 02-13-2014 11:32 AM

I'm open to the following weekend as well if that works for everyone. My wife is stranded in Boston until at least 1:00 on Friday at this point, and with the flights she has to take to get home won't be here until after dark. I spoke to Jim Hall this morning, and I think they can possibly swing next weekend as well. They are getting hit with the same storm we had the past few days. Jim made a good point this morning too, that even if we could get here, I don't know what it would be like getting around the sporting clays course? You guys let me know what you want to do, but sunny and 70 is sounding good right about now.

Buddy Marson 02-13-2014 12:37 PM

It looks like moving the shoot to next weekend might be the best thing to do. I can make it next weekend. We need a final decision so reservations can be changed. Those planning on attending need to weigh in.
