Oh, I guess I should have elaborated a bit further. My apologies........

This gun was originally purchased from the Estate of Dr. Fred J. Rinehart. I have been trying to contact his descendants to help elaborate a bit on the history of the gun, but have not been successful.

My estimation is that when Dr. Harvey B. Munshaw passed in 1989, the gun was bequeathed to Mr. Rinehart.

That’s a classy shooting jacket

Bill Murphy 03-06-2023 10:19 AM

A shooting buddy from my youth had a full size Ocelot skin complete with tail, sewed into the back of his shooting jacket. The tail almost dragged on the ground.

To continue, my friend obtained the ocelot skin from his sister who was an anthropologist employed by the National Geographic. At the time of the gift, the skin was legal to import. Unfortunately, my friend, well educated and very talented, died at 38 years old from cirrhosis of the liver. I don't know what ever happened to his elegant shooting coat.
