As far as RST is concerned I believe they are in the same quandary when it comes to getting material for loading, I called and ordered a flat of 20ga spreader and a flat of 28g a got an e-mail from Alex said the order could not be filled now, but hope he could fill it in 3-4 weeks Gary

I believe their shortage is the inability to get powder at this time. Much the same as the rest of us.

Pete,
At the Southern a couple of weeks ago they just about completely emptied their truck by Saturday. I know they were completely out of several items and low on most others. I'm sure they will be restocked by the time Ernie’s shoot comes around. |
I'm sure RST will be able to supply us with sufficient ammunition to satisfy us at Ernie's. Alex, Jill, and Morris have so many friends in the shooting community that their quest for components will be satisfied regardless of whether their normal channels dry up or not.

I'd have to believe RST uses a powder also in big demand for pistol shells. Just about any true shotgun powders are avaible through Dawsons.

I was talking with owner of a small gun shop last night who provides a great deal of the reloading supplies and shells used at the gun club I frequent the most. He said he did not know when his next load of lead shot would come in and mentioned the distributor he uses has 168,000+ bags of shot on back order.

Was up to Cabelas in Me last week and plenty of shot, ditto at Riley's.

I placed an order with the local wholesale store a few weeks ago and they said it would be mid sept. for me to get it. They are also back ordered by many a thousand bags. I just ordered a bag from bownells to get me by until then. They only wanted a little bit more than I pay from the wholesaler and I was placing an order anyway for some other stuff.
One local gun shop had 3 bags of 9 shot on hand. But they wanted like $55 each for them. I'm not that hard up. |
I just paid $45 a bag for magnum shot at my local skeet range. He had plenty.
