They are currently under construction, that's all I know right now. We had some fabric drama, they couldn't get the background felt all of a sudden. But they managed to source a replacement.

Destry L. Hoffard 08-21-2020 11:01 AM

I emailed asking for a progress report and she told me that "we're embroidering birds this week". Each color is added separately on a single head machine so it takes a little time. I'll keep everybody posted as much as possible.

Mills Morrison 08-21-2020 11:11 AM

Sounds good.

Destry L. Hoffard 09-03-2020 01:49 PM

Good News! Just got a call saying the patches were shipped today!

Destry L. Hoffard 09-03-2020 06:06 PM

P.S. There was one minor change. Due to all this Covid madness, the original 100% wool felt background material got back ordered. Rather than wait for possibly months till it became available again I had them run on a cotton / wool blend. Nobody might notice but me, just wanted to make sure I gave full disclosure.

Mark Sjoberg 09-04-2020 08:55 AM

I’m sorry if this was discussed earlier but how do I get one?

Destry L. Hoffard 09-04-2020 09:14 AM

I'm sorry but it was a pre order deal because of the cost. I took money for 30 days and then that was it. To do another run I'd have to get another 15 orders to get the price.

Mark Sjoberg 09-04-2020 09:55 AM

Thank you sir. Being new to the PGCA I didn’t catch that. I’ll be ready when round two comes around!

Keith Doty 09-04-2020 10:03 AM

I would take an additional patch if there were to be another order for those caught sleeping.

I can get another run made, just need 15 orders to get the same price. I've got three interested parties so far.

Patches are here and will start shipping next week.

Mills Morrison 09-04-2020 04:16 PM

Are they designed to self destruct if someone puts them on a Made in China vest?

Destry L. Hoffard 09-04-2020 04:18 PM

I've got a list going for the 2nd run.

Bob Dombeck 09-04-2020 06:10 PM

Destry, do they look as good as you expected? Would it be worth trying to get the original wool felt background material on order for a second batch? I'd be in for another one.

Destry L. Hoffard 09-04-2020 06:50 PM

They look just like the picture, they're great.

As far as the felt goes, that was a big problem. There is no 100% wool felt produced in the USA anymore. It has to come from Europe. And with what's going on in the world right now, the suppliers can't get the stuff. The wool / cotton blend is a USA product so can be gotten a lot easier.

I'm up to nine on a second order, ten if you're in on one with the blended fabric.

Bob Dombeck 09-04-2020 07:16 PM

I'm still in.

Brian Stucker 09-04-2020 07:22 PM

They look really good in the picture. can't wait. Actually, this process was fun...having something to look forward to since Covid has really harshed my mellow.

Steve Huffman 09-04-2020 08:22 PM

I may want a second after I see the first in hand .

Destry L. Hoffard 09-04-2020 09:30 PM

Well between here and the Facebook page I've got 15 names so I guess we're making a 2nd run. I'm only going to take orders for a week this time. The factory is getting ready to hit their busy season and I want to get these rolling. I'll message the interested parties on here right now.

Keith Doty 09-05-2020 11:01 AM

Destry, what is the cost per patch, shipping and all, on the 2nd run? My check will go out over the weekend, just don't remember the $$$. Can't wait to get them in hand! Again, Thanks for your effort!

keavin nelson 09-06-2020 11:16 AM

I'll take a second one Destry.

Kenny Graft 09-06-2020 05:12 PM

2nd Patch order

I will also order one from the 2nd batch....let me know$$ and payment info. Thanks Kenny SXS Ohio

Keith Doty 09-10-2020 10:32 AM

My check is in the mail for 2 additional patches. Thank you, Sir.

Destry L. Hoffard 09-11-2020 10:36 PM

The day job has had me tied up hard this week. Will start shipping early next week and dealing with 2nd run orders.

Jim DiSpagno 09-11-2020 10:40 PM

I’ll take one Destry. Let me know payment details thanks Jim

Corey Barrette 09-15-2020 08:00 PM

I’ll take one as well, please. Just saw the thread this evening. Payment details please. Many thanks!

bill grill 09-15-2020 08:13 PM

Ok, I finally finished packaging them all up this evening. Sorry I've been slow, work has kept me on the road a lot the past three weeks. I'll get these into the post this week for sure.

Once that's done I'll start taking money in earnest for the second order. I just didn't want to try to do them both at once for fear my already shaky mental health would completely collapse.

Brian Stucker 09-22-2020 09:57 AM

We are just finishing up almond harvest and will send you some right out of the orchard ( to the address the patch money went to). Shipping and handling is a pain so my way of saying thanks again...unless you are allergic

Destry L. Hoffard 09-22-2020 10:25 AM

I am most definitely not allergic! Send them on. How's the squirrel hunting in them almond orchards?

Bill Murphy 09-22-2020 10:31 AM

My guess is that there isn't squirrel within a half mile of that almond patch.

Brian Stucker 09-22-2020 11:24 AM

Bill is correct...the squirrels have been wiped out by my new friends; red a grey foxes.

We have a couple red foxes that have taken residence in our neighborhood but they're not doing a very good job on the squirrels. Little bastages are getting my tomatoes :cuss:!

Bill Murphy 09-22-2020 12:32 PM

I fenced my tomatoes this year. They are right between two trees that the squirrels favor. No damage, even though the squirrels would have no trouble getting into the fence. I guess my squirrels just don't like tomatoes.

Corey Barrette 09-22-2020 02:43 PM

Please let me know if you’re taking money yet for the second round of orders. Happy to ship payment at ant time but also don’t want to confuse you with your process. Thanks again.

Karl Ferguson 09-22-2020 05:17 PM

Destry posted this yesterday...

Ok I'm going to officially start taking money for the second run. I'm going to give it three weeks from today (October 6) then cash the checks and make the order. Whoever is paid in that time, I will order you a patch. I'm not going to message everybody and you don't need to message me, just send in your check or money order for $65 to:

Destry L. Hoffard
5150 Carpenter Rd.
Ypsilanti, MI 48197

Please include a return mailing label if possible, it saves me a lot of writing.

I will try to bump this once a week and give a reminder.

Lucky duck. Put up some netting and the little devils got through it the first day. Haven't looked today as I'm watching my blood pressure. Squirrel preventative methods on line says they don't like them until they start to ripen so don't worry about the green fruit. Bullsh!t!

PS: sorry to hijack the Parker patch thread.

Ok boys, everybody's patches from the 1st order are officially in the hands of the US Mail. I made a list of all the names / zip codes and have tracking numbers for everyone. When I came walking in with that many individual packages I'm sure the counter guy wanted to shoot me.

Keith Doty 09-29-2020 03:23 PM

BRAVO!

Corey Barrette 09-29-2020 05:18 PM

Many thanks!

My check went out in the mail yesterday. Thanks again for the strong effort and a well-designed patch. Looking forward to it.
