That’s why Parkers are much better for clays. The lightweight Fox is not conducive to hundreds of rounds per day. For me, a few pounds more in a gun is nothing when carrying it in the field. I’m Polish, German and Scandinavian so we’re just tough! 😎😁🤪

You're preaching to the choir here Craig. You know how I love the Fox 20 and I manage to shoot it fairly well. To me, they are a much more livelier handling gun. That's not to knock the Parker 20's I own. I own a few and enjoy shooting them but 9 out of 10 times I will pick a Fox over the Parker. I also have a Lefever 20 which is in the same league as the Fox. But with out a doubt my Parker 28's are in a league by themselves. As a sidebar, the Parker 28 on a OO frame is the same size as a Fox smallbore frame. Too bad Fox never saw fit to make a 28.:banghead:

As far as 2023 acquisitions I did acquire a nice 12ga A grade with 30in tubes and a 20ga Parker Trojan with 26in tubes and the doll's head extension bequeathed to me by a lifelong friend.

I’d have been totally okay with AH Fox if they’d seen fit to make 8’s 10’s 28’s and 410’s :whistle:

I have a 20 gauge Sterlingworth that is my go-to wood duck gun. No other manufacturer made a gun quite like the Super Fox, although many tried.

The Super Fox gets much hype, but how does the pattern compare to other makers that were chambered for the 3" shell??

Parker of course made quite a few although I don't know that I've ever heard a number??

Ithaca produced 87 12 gauge Ithaca NID's with 3" chambers on their Larger Magnum Frame with the additional lug through the frame for strength.

I've never owned or shot a Super Fox and I don't want to be hung or stoned:shock:, but was the pattern out of a Becker Super Fox that much better than the other makers magnum 12's??

There are way too many variables among guns and shot shells for one to make a blanket statement about any particular gun. The Super Fox is a fine long distance shotgun no doubt, but I don't think they are in that category by themselves.

That's a great question Stan. I'm sure Frank, Craig or Researcher might have some data on the patterns of a Becker barreled gun vs a factory barreled gun. I'd be interested too to see definitive proof of MUCH better patterns opposed to non-Becker patterns. Was it the real deal or just a hype/status symbol thing. Kind of like the latest, greatest choke tube gimmick in the registered clays shooting world that everyone just has to have or you'll be left behind. Frank did a lot of pattern testing with his guns. Not sure whether that was to test the various guns or if it was to test various loads? I just don't remember. I'm sure he'll be along shortly.

Sold a 24", 28 gauge, and bought a 30", 28 gauge.
