LOL yes David those Apache turkey are tough. I actually bought it for hunting Sandhill cranes and jump shooting ducks of ponds.
Lots of water this year and if we get our summer rains some of the ponds you can't shoot across.
I probably wont shoot it for sure this year. I will stick with my sub-gauges.
Aa far as the Mearns I will be ready, even if I need to carry my Francotte 410.

cant wait to hear what kind of shot you are with that big gun...I bet it will surprise you how far that big gun will take a duck....my dad and I were hunting duck one day not many moveing...2 wood ducks came by at about 100 yards my dad fired at them he killed both...he was using lead bb shot I went and picked them up for him only about 4 shot in each of them but he shot some legs off and when we dressed them them bb holes looked like they had been shot with a 22 rifle...he was using one of those old Spanish 10 ga . 3 1/2 inch guns...with steel bb shot you should be able to kill a duck way out there...good hunting.........charlie

I will let you know. This is an ideal Sandhill crane gun. Those birds fly so high and fast you need every advantage. The cranes are considered a Migratory bird so you can use lead. Didnt draw tags for this year anyway so maybe 2024 I will get a chance.

I was able to get preliminary information. The letter is 4 weeks out.
It appears that the shotgun went back to have the single trigger installed.

I ordered a Sunburst pad directly from Ithaca today. I hope it fits. Im guessing it Jostam Anti-Flinch ont vut csn use it on something else later on.
I do a new 2 ply Jostam sponge rubber pad as will a 3 layered.
If on of these will fit, what's the thought on using one of these.

What an incredible bargain! $46.47 while the Parker 1930 catalog lists a Trojan at $55, a VH at $68, and a grade 2 GH at $95. Did the depression have that big of an impact on the actual sale prices?

Phillip Carr 07-13-2023 11:31 PM

Bob I thought the same thing. You could have bought 2 of these for the price of a grade 2 Parker.

It mentions going to a hardware store, so I guess that is a wholesale price. I wonder what they retailed at.

That hardware company may have been a jobber. The wholesale price to a dealer would have been $60.04 with a retail price of $72.95. Add $2.25 retail for the recoil pad.

Prices were the same on the Feb. 15, 1935 list.
