Thanks to the NH Boys for hosting a great shoot today. Nice to see the familiar faces and meeting new ones. Lots of sweet guns that I got to admire today. Happy New Year and looking forward to seeing you all soon.

It was a nice day for this time of year and it was fun to visit with those who came out. It was also nice to shoot a few rounds of clays. Highlights for the day for me included two servings of Bill J's venison chili, probably one of if not the best chili I have ever had. Next up was a surprise visit well into the day by Frank Cronin. Frank enters the modern skeet field with a 32" 20ga Remington model 17 and started crushing every target. Dean Romig shot his 28ga Skeet gun which is a delight hold and point. Amazingly Russell Cleary decided to sell a very clean 28ga MEC press and a bunch of factory 28ga ammo which last I saw was being loaded into Dean's truck. Both were smiling. Five guys brought out their big 10's and shot a round of trap from the 27 yard line. That round didn't look like it was going to happen, the Pat Trap was stuck in one position and not releasing birds. I saved the day by turning it off and then turning it on, everything is computer now it seems and a reboot can fix it. Russell invited his friend and Maine Grouse Guide, who I believe left the shoot with a 16ga Trojan when it was offered. All in all it was a real good day. Happy 2023!!! I hope we can do it again next year.

I couldn't quite get my Star Trek transporter working so I could attend.... Didn't think to just reboot it... :crying:

I certainly would love to make one of these events at some point.

It was a wonderful event for those who could make thevtrip!
The shooting was fun and the food was good!!… thanks to Bill’s efforts and expertise in making a fab venison chili.
It was soo good to get back together with old friends but the pinnacle for me was vusiting with two guys I didn’t expect to see - Allan Swanson and Robin Lewis!! I just don’t get to visit with them often enough!

Did I mention Sarah’s sugar cookies were the best… I hope Dorothy got the recipe from Sarah in one of their extended chats…

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

It was a super get-together. Kind of a sleeper, as for a while there was a note of hesitation in the air about the weather and some reticence on the part of participants to declare their intentions to turn out.

But, muster they did -- new and old faces.

A few regulars, however, were missed.

Especial thanks to Pete for once again taking a leadership role in pulling the event together; Bill J. for the hot lunch, Sara for the sweets and photos, and Scott for setting up the course.
