Good on you for getting the old girl back out in the field David! So, what was the lock problem?? Gunk? Just a loose screw? I've found that on the hammer guns that have not been apart for decades that every screw in the lock assemblies is at least a bit loose.

The gun had surface rust on the lock parts and the rust was keeping it from working. I totally broke gun down into every piece possible. Used several types of cleaners to remove rust and dirt and then oiled everything while reassembling. Cleaned up the wood and reassembled. You were right when you said they are quite easy to work on. Everything went great. There was very little gunk in locks just light rust. The barrels will still need work to make very nice. I am sorry to say I have not taken time to learn picture posting. Will try to get at it. I do appreciate other pictures posted and thanks Dave

You did well David. The joke's on the rest of us! If you have someone re finish the bbls it will be a stunning gun that will be shooting for generations to come.
