Mike, Mike. You didn't need to do that. All a person has to do now is to self identify as female and they can walk right into the women's shower room. Works for me!

Sadly, this was Triple my Lewellin setter's last hunt. She died this morning. She led a good life, many days in the field from the Oklahoma quail plains, throughout the Great Plains, Montana, grouse in Minnesota. Many many birds and wonderful adventures and memories.

A difficult day.

We always say no more but can't live without their companionship and devotion to their work. A difficult day, indeed. We share your loss.

The sentiments are much appreciated. She was a fine dog that has now joined the list of wonderful hunters that I have been blessed to accompany me in my life. I have a fine Elhew pointer to take me through the hunting season but with the kind of hunting I do I need a pair, so I have made arrangements to pick up a new Lewellin pup from Houdini kennels in Minnesota in September. She will be 6 and 7 months old in Jan and Feb, old enough to start working 100 or more quail a day out towards the Panhandle.

I believe the best way to get a young dog going fast is to get them on wild birds early and paired with an experienced older dog that knows how to approach and hold without jumping
birds. I like them hot blooded and big running in open country.

With that many bird contacts, she will do fine. I always liked taking a young dog to the UP when the woodcock flights were in. I would take up a young pup and bring home a seasoned gun dog.
Betty will be making her 12th appearance in the UP this fall and I cant imagine being there without her, my new pup Willow, is 5 weeks old today and will ride along this year.
Sorry to hear about Triplett.
