Were the gun mine, I would have the pad replaced with an original Silvers (they are available) have the floorplate screws repaired and timed, a possibly, have the bolt locking lip replaced to move the lever further to the right. I consider these moves/repairs to be maintenance, not a restoration. A gun of this quality and scarcity deserves to look like a well maintained piece. Needless to say, the work should be done by one of our recognized Parker smiths.

Bobby, with all the detailed advice, you don't need any from me.
Here's my old D 20/32 with its old Hy Gun pad: |
To hell with your gun...nice pad!! :envy:
Now that pad has character, mine looks diseased. Originality counts but I don't see any benefit to 100 year old schmootz. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...psfac6b858.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...psab6e844a.jpg |
I used orange based cleaner on an old Fox pad years ago. Did a great job with only 1 application. Cleaned it up and the rubber seemed rejuvinated.

I like how when looking down these long barrels there's a horizon and you can see the curvature of the earth. |
Very cool!!:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
