I don’t have a real good term to describe it, but let’s just say, when you pick a date, not every date is perfect, sometimes the good features are that great, you look past one not so likable feature:bigbye: |

And yes John, BLM. |
Will results be available somewhere?

I don't see the results on the "archives" section. Where on the website are the results?

I thought it was a fantastic event, and the Guyette and Deeter team, coupled with our own Mr. Josh Lowensteiner did a very professional job with their inaugural event. I will be back. St. Michaels was a wonderful place to host the event and I hope it stays there.
Special thanks to our Parker Forum Members that I was able to meet, most for the first time at the auction. It was very nice to meet all of you, and I look forward to future trips and some shooting!!!! Thank you all again for a great time. Bobby Grilli "Gunner Grilli" |
It sounds like a nice place to visit, and I wish I could go some day. It's just so far that by the time I pay for the dog care and travel, I could meet the BP cost for a nice gun. Still, I'd like to see their facility and enjoy some of the things folks have noted in the area (especially the seafood!!)...not to mention meet some folks that I've come to know only through the Forum.

I watched the auction on the live stream. It was fun watching the bids change in real time. I did mark down all the sold prices in the catalog just for grins. I must say it was definitely more exciting than any NFL, NBA or college hoops. It is especially cool knowing who bought what. That adds a major "cool factor" to the auction.

Mike, did you have a list of the bidder numbers? By the way, we saw what we think is Destry's old Churchill 8 gauge. Sixteen thousand some odd dollars.

I bid on 8 or 10 guns, but not seriously. They were out of ny reach generally before my bid was submitted and acceptet.
I bought only two guns; one of the cheap doubles from Europe needing work and the Citori Browning 16 in the box. I wanted it for hunting. I have looked for new ones for over a year and they are just getting heavier, This one was near the perfect weight for a field 16. The 16 is my favorite gauge, and I own around a dozen or few by my count, but not a one with over 2-1/2" chambers. Sometimes you just want one that you can buy a few shells and not worry about where you take it. I watch quite a few auctions and I was amazed. Neglecting the ones in the stratosphere, I thought almost every lot was hammered at it's absolute maximum expected street price, then the vig added. I only saw one lot passed with no bid. |
Can anyone tell me what the damascus DH20, lot 28 sold for ? I found that one intriguing.

$20,400.00 all in Rich

Thanks. Guess I won't lose much sleep over that one then. Way too high for my wallet.

guyette and deeter auction
It was as professional as an auction that I have ever been to and I have been to many. Even though I got outbid on the 2 guns that I came for-I still enjoyed the event. I don't think that I was ever at an auction where they served oysters and drinks at the preview and even fed you on auction day that was all on the house. Also- meeting with several Parker Gun collector members especially Randy Roberts and Gunner Grilli. Even though Randy was busy looking at the items he was bidding on he took the time to look at some guns for me and give me some good advice. Gunner Grilli who came clear from California brought me one of the Parker Brochures that I posted in the Parker Collectors want section and a beautiful Parker Patch that I can use on my table cloth for display. Two first class Gentlemen for sure! I am looking forward to the fall auction and want to personally thank Josh Lowensteiner and Mr. Deeter for doing such a professional job of putting on such a fine auction.

Well I’d thought someone in GA bought the SA-1 but now I think the SA-1 will be in a place with another SA-1

I have attended Guyette auctions for 30 plus years as a decoy collector. They are a first class organization from my many dealings with them over many years. We are fortunate as gun collectors to have them enter the gun auction business. We needed a small quality/customer focused organization in our hobby. Well done!

My feelings are exactly the same, and I hope it stays that way. It is a breath of fresh air in the Gun Auction world. Well said. Thanks, Bobby |

Great event...
The Guyette and Deeter auction team, and Josh Lowensteiner and his colleagues, collaborated to put on a superb two-day event. The hospitality, locations, and management of the auction were all first-rate. Talbot County, MD and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum should be proud to have this celebration of Americana and sporting arms centered in Easton and St. Michaels. There were many new plateaus reached with prices this weekend. We Parker, Ithaca, A.H. Fox, Winchester, etc. owners should sleep well knowing that our valuations have entered new territory. (Here's wondering who the online bidders were that had their foot to the floorboard on some of the bids? Perhaps we'll see those items come back around one day.) In any event, here's looking forward to September 2023 and that the auction team can assemble another world-class line up. Keep it up Guyette and Deeter, and Josh. It was a most pleasurable February event along the frigid Miles River. Thank you for the food, drinks, expertise and displays. And, PGCA members, put the September date on your travel calendars. You can still read the menu if you're on a diet.

An enjoyable time it was

I also enjoyed taking in the inaugural firearms auction put on by the Guyette & Deeter team, Josh, and Wes Dillon. I thought it was done very professionally and I’m hoping to be back for their September auction.
I enjoyed meeting Parker members Keavin Nelson, Bobby Grilli, John Bastiani, Jerry ??, and of course, Randy Roberts. I was hoping to see other friends there also, but I’m not sure where they might have sat, almost all the seats were filled. It is a beautiful area for sure, I should have taken more photos, this photo is from the outside deck of the building where tha auction was held, The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Stan Hoover |
I did not bid on any guns, but did have Josh handle the sale of 2 for me. From he first conversation with Josh through the follow up text he sent to me. I could not have been treated any better.
I wish Josh long term success in this new endeavor. I will list additional fine guns through Josh in the future. |

It's very unlikely that you would see a Sika in the fields along Rt. 50. They are very secretive and tend to dwell in the marshes and fields in lower Dorchester County. Your best bet to see one is to visit Blackwater NWR in Dorchester Co. and cruise slowly through the refuge. I've killed a number of them, none as nice as Craig's, but they are fascinating little devils and very tasty. Maryland is a wonderful state to live in for a sportsman, but terrible for a gun owner and a taxpayer. Next time you are in this area let me know. I'll show you where to look. |

BTW, if you like the area, there is the Water Foul Festival in Easton in November (I think it is usually the week before waterfowl hunting opens). There is a big Decoy auction then and a gun show down the road. Billy

John,
I was fortunate to bring a few home, after the fierce bidding started, I wasn’t sure if I would be able:shock: I must say, if you were looking to buy any Smiths, according to suggested estimates, they were within reason compared to many of the others, for sure the Parkers. I have a few friends who pursue the Sika deer, a trophy like Craig has been able to take requires much patience. Stan |
I was too busy to pay it any attention. The 10 gauge ammo I was looking at went for $2100 I think.
