I’m going to bring a Folsom hammer trap gun, I have never shot before, looking forward to shooting it. Also a what I call the Italian Parker, and a gun that I think is a skeet gun for show and tell.
A new reproduction for my son to shoot and hopefully get him hooked as well. This will be my first time at a Parker event looking forward to it. Bob |
I was possibly going to be out that way this weekend and was thinking of trying to make it to the shoot. But the trip is not going to happen. Enjoy the shooting all! Thanks for putting it together Jay.

I’ll bring a 16 DHE that Brian worked his magic on but also the little 28 he featured on his Facebook page. I should be able to shoot through a Cheerio but if I’m lucky enough to connect, it should vaporize it.

Edgar'
I will bring you a box of spreaders to try in the 28. |
Edgar, i thought you were giving that DHE to your daughter?

I was so nice to see everyone and talk/shoot Parkers. I also enjoyed getting to meet several PGCA members for the first time. I had a lot of fun and was thankful we had such beautiful weather. I only took a few picture so if anyone else has any please post them when you have a chance. We will do this again next year :)

Jay, thank you very much for putting this fun shoot together. It was great to see familiar and some new faces. The course was very good and the weather could not have been better. We should do this more often. Thanks again.

Where was Dave Suponski today?

I'm sorry I missed it. Next year I hope.

My grandson Cam, and I enjoyed the event completely!
It is a very nice SC venue and the folks who operate it are the nicest folks. Cam's family heirloom VH 20 gauge started doubling on the second station if I remember correctly but he picked up my Damascus 16 GH on the 0-frame and really impressed us with his shooting. Ah, for the reflexes and precision of youth! I vote him "Most Improved" since the last time he has shot clays about two years ago. Great friends, great guns, great memories and a great place to do it all made for a great day! Thanks for all your hard work and effort to make this happen!! . |
Thanks again Jay. It was good to finally get together and break clays again with a great bunch of SxS guys. Looking forward to Ernie's even more now.
|
Cam was a great shot today in our group and his grandfather has every reason to be proud of him.
|
It was great to meet guys I've only corresponded with in the past and to see old friends again. We had great weather and Peace Dale was an excellent host. Many thanks to Jay for organizing it.

It was a fine day we had, and thanks to Jay for arranging it.
Saw a couple vintage, elegantly-styled, hammer guns in action breaking clays with an aplomb that belied the age of weapons that a generation ago the conventional wisdom said were no longer good for anything but wall ornamentation. Seeing Chuck B. reach out and bust the high and/or far-away variety of targets was a convincing vindication of the effectuality of Parker’s 28-gauge guns. Not only was the shoot worth participating in; it was worth GOING to participate in. Kathy G. and I came down a day early and soaked up some of the regional atmosphere of the West side of Narransett Bay. I, a life-long New Englander, have had scant exposure to those Ocean State resort towns, historic villages, and sea food restaurants. We recommend the Sugar Loaf Bed & Breakfast in town, too. Our hosts were very congenial, and figuratively and literally went the extra mile: The proprietress insisted on GUIDING us over to the Peace Dale Shooting preserve! |

I have only been to the New Years shoot in N.H. and yesterday in R.I. but what has impressed me at both is the generosity of the people at both. They are generous of their knowledge and time and i can not count the number of guns i was handed with ''take it and shoot it'' and these were not common, run of the mill guns but their owners prize possessions. A handful a shells accompanied each offer.
I can see the reason so many look forward to the big overnight shoots and hope to someday make them also. My sincere thanks to Jay and all of you who put up with me. |
Dan, I should have offered my 16 hammer to you to shoot. Next time we’re together, feel free to do so. It swings and shoots just like you would imagine.

Here is a cursory photo Kathy G. took yesterday at Peace Dale with her flip-'phone.
Chuck B. tells the story of his Parker 28-gauge and Dean R. examines it. |
Jay thank you for setting this up!
Being a new member I was unsure of what to expect. I brought my oldest sons and two friends we are all looking forward to the next event. It was a great time and a great group of people to meet with similar interests. I never thought that I would be able to see the number 9 serial number Parker. Great day ! Bob |
Nice picture for a flip-phone Russell. I wish I could get my flip-phone pictures to come out like that. Kudos to Kathy G.
Chuck shoots lights out with that little 28. Don't know why he shoots any other gun.:) |

Yes, and thanks, and Kathy sent me this other photo just now. Jay O. on left (standing) holding some 12b-brass, talking with Chuck B. who is sitting and outside frame. Jay had a couple originals and some newly-turned 12-b. Dean in center examining I believe Jay's Parker serial no. 97 that takes the 12-b. I need an ID on the feller standing on the right. Any additional info. or corrections, PM me and I will edit. |
