Harold Lee Pickens 04-06-2015 09:11 PM

Getting in Wed night. Don't have a hammer gun, but looks like there will be a few extra
"lying around". Have a local friend who would let me take his hammer 12 Hunter Arms.
Even if I don't shoot a hammer gun, I'm sure you guys would let me tag along with one of those damn hammerless guns.

Jim Signore 04-06-2015 09:15 PM

Do we have a start time for this event?? Or is it just show up and catch up on the course?? I'm driving up from Atlanta and not sure if I should leave out Wednesday night or first thing Thursday morning. Just curious. Thanks. Jim

I think last year we all tried to meet up around 10 am in the parking lot.

Rich Anderson 04-07-2015 09:17 AM

Harold NO you can't tag along with a hammerless gun in the hammer gun event:nono: What you can do though is use my 12ga lifter and shoot the event:rotf:
I figured meeting at Drakes at 9:30 by the time we get squaded up and on the course it will be 10am. What do you guys think about 50 targets in the am have lunch and 50 more after that?

That worked well last year, 50 in the morning 50 in the afternoon, one on each course, sounds good to me.

Mills Morrison 04-07-2015 01:04 PM

I think Dan serves steaks on Thursday nights. Would be cool to eat dinner there too.

David Dwyer 04-07-2015 04:30 PM

I will bring the beer!

Mike,
As per my PM I would like to join all you "fine gentlemen" on this outing on Thursday 4/23.

Mike

Rich Anderson 04-08-2015 09:31 AM

Mike I don't think mark Ouellette is going to be able to make it.
I NEED: to get out and shoot, haven't shot a clay target since last August:eek: now where did I put The Hollywood Gun???

David Dwyer 04-14-2015 08:52 AM

I believe there will be several display/sale tables available on a first come basis. I will display, not for sale, three early, XXXX, lifters:20,16 ,12. These are all shooters. I will bring them over to Deep River Sat. morning and put them out if there is any room.
David

George M. Purtill 04-14-2015 10:22 AM

Thanks David that's great.
Are they for us PGCA members?
I have a couple Parkers I would like to sell and a couple to display.

David Dwyer 04-14-2015 12:10 PM

First come, anyone with a double barrel. We have Parker, Fox, Smith, Boss, Greener that I am aware of.
David

William Davis 04-14-2015 01:41 PM

William Davis

Rich Anderson 04-14-2015 03:30 PM

This is getting to be quite a little gathering....I like it....a lot.:)

Craig Larter 04-14-2015 04:29 PM

What time are you guys planning on arriving on Thursday. What time will shooting start.
Will there be a table to display guns for sale at Drakes. Thanks Craig

Rich Anderson 04-14-2015 07:48 PM

As I understand it there will be some tables for guns to be displayed and for sale. We will be there about 9am and get to shooting ASAP. We will meet Friday at 9:30am for the hammer gun event.

Mike.Smith 04-14-2015 10:50 PM

I spoke to Dan about putting some guns up for display, and as David said, he'll have some tables set up for us to do so. I don't think he'll mind if we put guns up for sale, but will check with him to make sure. I was already planning to check for another individual who will have six or more guns for sale and is shooting with us Thursday.

Rich Anderson 04-15-2015 11:36 AM

I'll have 2 and maybe 3 for sale.

Mills Morrison 04-15-2015 11:38 AM

I might have a couple for sale too

George M. Purtill 04-17-2015 08:48 PM

Dumb question but will RST be there selling anything?

Dean Romig 04-17-2015 09:17 PM

You should telephone RST to find out if they'll be in NC at all.

570-553-1651

Mike.Smith 04-17-2015 09:49 PM

George, in the past they have had a tent at the Southern, but it's been hit or miss at a lot of the shows lately. As Dean said, I'd call to find out.

William Davis 04-17-2015 10:38 PM

RST told me they are attending the Southern and will supply shells best call them in advance to reserve

William

Mike Franzen 04-17-2015 10:45 PM

I would like to shoot hammer gun on Friday. Julia wants to shoot too but she won't be using a hammer gun if that's ok

Bill Murphy 04-18-2015 11:58 AM

Mills, I believe it's time for Julia to go shopping for a hammer gun.

David Dwyer 04-18-2015 01:11 PM

Mike
There really are not any rules. We just have fun and she is welcome to shoot any double she wants. This is an adhock ? group that just enjoys the guns , camaraderie, and the hospitality.See y'all there
David

Mike Franzen 04-18-2015 02:22 PM

Bill would you please pressure Mills into buying a hammer gun for Julia? I would be great full!

David Dwyer 04-18-2015 02:48 PM

Mills has a multi year history of buying a gun for Julia at the southern so..... I have none for sale but she can use any one I own anytime. I will have a very nice D grade 30" dam 16a that would fit her just fine.
David

John Liles 04-18-2015 05:31 PM

As best I can recall, Mrs. Morrison shoots an LC Smith!:)
(Not that I'd ever pay attention to something like that!)

Rich Anderson 04-18-2015 05:45 PM

Mike there will be plenty of guns available if your wife would like to try a hammer gun.

I shot today....ugly....just plain ugly:shock: Maybe it was adhock:rotf:

Mike.Smith 04-18-2015 06:37 PM

Ok, we're counting down the days! I spoke to Dan today and he's ok if you guys want to bring guns and either display them or put them out for sale. He just said to let him know how many tables we need when we arrive and they would be happy to accommodate.

As a reminder, Dan will have both lunch and dinner options available to us on Thursday, and the food is always outstanding, so please plan to stay for dinner if you're shooting with us in the afternoon. I believe Elizabeth and the Grits Girls will be there around 4:00, which is too late for shooting, but just in time for dinner. It sounds like a few people may have called to reserve carts as well, which shouldn't be necessary. On a typical Saturday they run over 400 shooters through the office and I've never been without a cart. :)

Maybe if Rich is lucky, his girlfriend from last year will show up and pull targets for us again. Daryl, we tried to tell ya!

Looking forward to seeing all of you!

Mike

Rich Anderson 04-18-2015 07:24 PM

She e-mailed me yesterday and she will be there for the entire weekend.

Dean Romig 04-18-2015 10:22 PM

Excellent photoshop of that pic! The dead giveaway is that Rich isn't all over her like a bad suit.

Mike.Smith 04-18-2015 10:46 PM

Photoshop? Me? Noooooo. And besides, I have the pic to which you're referring Dean, but it wasn't exactly appropriate for this forum. :rotf:

Mike

Hey guys,

The women at Drake Landing that I desire as girlfriends may not be Cindy Crawford but at least they are real!
