Dam 3 Lifter 20 ga
It may be worth a trip to Maine just to see this lot auctioned. There are only 14 lifter 20's archived; the three Dam 3 's are on the longer, check hook action.
4634 is the first U20; it is on a one frame with unique engraving; it is the highest grade lifter 20 known. 10165 and 17448 have been shown at PGCA. They are on a small frame comparable to a hammerless 00. 15838 was also shown at PGCA. It is on the later standard 0 frame, and the only L3. It is very modern in appearance. Will there be 5? 10? more? bidders on the line when this lot is called? This will have a major influence on U20 collectability. Best, Austin |
Edgar I'm glad your enjoying the 16. How doe this gun differ from the Chicken Coop gun of Mr. Herzog?
|
Rich, wasn't the chicken coop gun a top lever? Other than that not much.
|
I thought it was a lifter but thats "memory" for you:)

I'm sure Bruce will remind us.

lot 1111 - 20 ga BHE $16,000All these were bids, add 17% buyers premium and 6% Maine Tax for final cost to buyer. |

Nope, but as I rode home I was thinking....... "I should have".
It seems about 4K over my self imposed limit to me but then it had a very nice fitted oak & leather case that I didn't factor in my limit calculation. I set my limit at 12 but that was gun only, I should have took into account the case and accessories that came with it. Oh well, I didn't "need" it anyway. I don't know who did the work but it was very well executed. Someone got a nice one. It would have been a lot of fun at Addieville this Spring! |
