You are also weighing two different types of stock wood. Claro vs European ??

It appears most of the weight variation between the Meriden Parkers and the Repros were in the barrels, I assume because of wall thickness. While you were at it I wish you would have compared the Meriden splinter ejector forends with the Repro forends -- probably an ounce of two there, too.

I am aware of that Ed. The two VH stocks are straight, and the 4 D grades are PG. The reason I included them was for comparison between each other, not comparison to the D grades. They are dimensionally identical.

The 3 DHE stocks are with 1/18" of each other, but the longer one is also the lightest..

Thanks for posting the comparisons, Edgar. I am mildly surprised the Meriden forends weigh virtually the same as the Repros despite them having less wood.

I know longer have the gun, but had a double trigger, 20 gauge Repro with a straight grip with splinter forearm. Weight was 6 lb 12 oz. Killer Claro walnut. I got rid of it because of the weight. I was an avid grouse hunter at that time and it was just too heavy to haul up and down the mountains. This was probably at least 10 years ago. PS. Sold it to a guy in Pa. Chokes were mod/full.
