These got a lot of attention over on trapshooters.com. Mostly negative because of the price. But as I noted over there, Vista is offering STS shells for $15/box and Nitro 27 at $17/box. If you’re going through a flat or more a week, it’s all pretty pricey.

Flyer Loads

Federal ran some Paper Flyer loads in Copper 7.5's earlier in the year. 1330 fps if I remember correctly. I got a case but haven't broken into them yet. Will |
In for four boxes over here. Most likely to go on display with my vintage stuff.

I have blown money on lesser things so I splurged. After all its almost Christmas.
Shells arrived today. I like everything about them. 5 boxes will go to friends for Christmas. I will keep a box and shoot the rest on some quail and dove hunts. |

I think the box is attractively designed but one of the Peters Vintage Bobwhites in place of the clay would look even better.

these look like collector boxes to me a hit from the start....charlie

I bought 97 flats a couple of years ago from an estate. Averaged $4.30 per box. I don’t need these paper shells I wanted them.
That said I have been shooting RST shells for years. With shipping they are about $20 per box. I went Mearns quail hunting 4 times this past week and only shot a box and a half of 20 gauge shells. So about $30 to hunt 4 days. I don’t shoot clay targets very often and won’t be shooting Eurasian dove in any large number with any of these paper loads, but the smell alone reminds me of when I was a kid and will be worth every penny. I don’t drink $100 a bottle scotch very often but occasionally I splurge and enjoy it. |
