Have a 1916 BE with an identical left ejector issue. The forend had been redone in beavertail style, and that's where I will start looking closer.

Henderson, take the take the wood off your forend and try the ejectors with the forend iron by itself on the gun.

I believe the "trip rods" are actually referred to as "ejector blades" on a Fox. They are clipped onto the end of a long shaft connected to the hammers, and housed within a cylindrical insert that is press fitted into the frame knuckle. Even the extractor models have a filler plug in the frame knuckle which can be seen upon cleaning and close inspection. After removing the hammers, the ejector blade housing has to be driven or hydraulically pressed out from the front of the frame to the back, to remove and replace the worn blade, which will likely need to be fitted to function properly. Such a repair should probably be left to a professional with experience on Fox ejector guns, IMHO.

I would try the ejector without the beavertail wood and see if the left barrel ejects. If still not working, then look into the trip or the ejector for wearing.
