Phil what model is that Merkel?I had a 201 made in 1936(12ga) with full and fuller chokes.
It would flat roll a dove at some long distance. |
Wow Mr. Yager - what a broad brush you paint this wonderful group with. It would be pretty boring around here if all we did was agree with each other. A small minority of those who have negative comments to post or who might disagree should censor themselves a bit because some of their remarks are rude and coarse, but everybody has their own opinion about things, including you, sir.
We are, by the way, a damn sight better than that other 'double gun' forum over there. I kinda agree with Mr. Murphy on this one.... . |
Thank you, Dean, for your support. This isn't what this forum is used to.

Go to your post and in the lower right click on EDIT and then tou can either edit your post or delete it.

Don’t delete your post, Bill. Saves me the trouble of saying the same thing.

Bob it is a 301E. I took it Means quail hunting but was very careful. Too easy to slip and break a stock. I have had it out to The dairy a few times it flat smokes the birds. Little chance of damaging it there.

Thanks Phil
Mine was a 201E and would dot your eye with the ejectors. |
Thanks guys for the comments. The quality of mechanical fit and finish. Wood and metal artistry as well as the feel and balance of the gun when shooting wild birds is as good as it gets.
It is as sweet of a 16 as I have every had the pleasure to shoot. Now I just need to find a nice vintage 1940 era O/U Merkel case to complement this shotgun. |
