I don't know a lot about horses, but a local dog trainer and field trial judge, Nick Stevens, used to ride a horse in the National Capital Field Trial Club trials that had a stature similar to the pictured horse. As a kid, I never ventured farther in my opinion of that horse than "Nick is a bit broad in the beam and did that horse some permanent damage.". I still have pictures of Nick and that horse taken at 1950s field trials at our gun club. Is that posture in a horse caused by the weight of the rider or some other malady?
