Buy the gun, not the dealer. That applies to cars, rings, guns, houses, you name it. Wake up.

I bought a GHE 16 on the 0-frame with Damascus barrels cut to 26” from 28” for exactly $1400. Originally priced at $1750. I spoke with Tony on the phone and asked him what he thought about the gun. His words were “I hate the @&$#ing thing - do you want it for $1400?” I said yes.

I repeat my previous post. Buy the gun, not the dealer. The dealer is in business to make money. He has to sell the bad guns as well as the good guns. It's up to you to determine which guns are bad and which guns are good. Don't expect the dealer to tell you which is which. The same goes with cars. There are bad and good on the lot and the dealer has to sell all of them. I have good friends in the gun and the car business, but I look at the product and ignore some of what the dealer tells me. Homework.

My post was questioning their customer service. I stated in my original post that I decided to keep the gun, that is my choice and I am settled with that. I did my homework including browsing posts here to learn as much as I can, that's why I noticed every detail about the gun that was not original. So why the "Wake up"? I agree 100% with you but you make it sound as if I am in the wrong in the transaction? I may have questioned the originality had there been a photo of the Browning Superposed butt plate but there wasn't.

I am not capable of that. If I do not like or trust the dealer or salesperson of any item for sale I will not buy from them, period.
