As the grades go up the top lever embellishment goes up too. B-Grade and higher even has sculpting on the top lever as well as more elaborate engraving.

I assumed their would be more elaborate engraving, it's just the top levers on those 2 almost seem to be a different design. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Nope - same design, just contoured a bit differently at the thumb pad.

Could simply be the difference between two different guys polishing and finishing prior to engraving.

Guess I sometimes forget these were hand built.

Two nice guns no doubt about it but they aren't really a pair IMHO and I think the asking price is a little strong for them.

he does still have the matched pair of AHE Pigeon guns for a $100K. I bet that could be negotiated and those are a nice and true pair of guns. Now where did I deposit that extra $100K :rotf:

Steve's shop is on the street I live on, therefore I am in the shop weekly. He is a good friend and I have learned a lot about guns from him. The pair of AHE Pigeon guns are as good as they get and were made without a doll's head. I read or heard that some pigeon shooters ordered there guns that way. How a doll's head could foul up one shooting I do not know, but I am not a pigeon shooter.

I thought so too.. I'm no expert but I've seen DHE 20's sell anywhere from $7-12,000.. is the CHE really worth $30-40,000?

You've gotta start somewhere... especially so if the consignor isn't in a rush to sell.

I hope he eventually gets his asking price - or somewhere near it.

Send a check Dean and your wish will come true as well as Steves:rotf: I think $45K is more realistic but then again I don't want or need them:whistle:

We have just inherited one that looks like the bottom one in these pictures. Is that the CHE or the DHE? Thanks.
