Dean, I see that Primland took a full page add out! A few months ago some PGCA guys visited the resort to see what was offered, at that time Kimberly said she would like to advertise in our publication, glad to see she followed through, Gary

I really enjoyed Jerry Harlow's article and hope he brings his new friend to the Southern to shoot for Team Parker!

Gary, Mike Kobos, our advertising manager cultivated that ad. Mike is doing a great job of filling ad space in our fine magazine.

Yes Bill, I have done that, but to re-publish articles and stories from previous issues would somewhat defeat my goal of always providing fresh new material, and new authors, for each issue. I will agree that there are dozens and dozens of articles and stories from past issues that would absolutely merit publishing again but Jim Hall keeps the 'warehouse' of past issues that anyone can order from him to fill the gaps in members' collections of Parker Pages.

Neither will I publish anything that has appeared in publications other than Parker Pages. I made one exception to this rule when we published Brian Dudley's fine research article on his visit to Remington Arms in Illion to gain access to the prototype Trojan Skeet Gun for his article. What Brian found - some heretofore unknown information on the gun which was published in its entirety in Double Gun Journal - that Brian, Daniel Cote, and myself agreed could be published in Parker Pages in an abbreviated format, thereby allowing the important stuff to be published where it needed to be - Parker Pages.
But that was a unique circumstance, which of course may happen in the future, depending on the nature of the material.

I republished four articles, one for each issue of our twentieth anniversary volume, as a special tribute to Parker Pages, Volume 1, Issues 1, 2, 3, and 4 and to their authors.

Special circumstances call for special departures from the norm, but I really don't plan on republishing anything from past issues unless I simply do not have enough material for a particular issue.

I will continue to solicit new material for each and every issue with sincere hopes that I won't have that last-minute crunch-time scramble through past issues to find what I would consider to be the right article (theme/purpose/word-count, etc.) for re-publication.

Thanks for asking Bill,
Dean

That makes sense, and I definitely agree about continuing to get new information and such. I just had enjoyed the anniversary articles that I wanted to suggest it!

For anyone who enjoys Parker Pages (that's all of us, right?), and who enjoys the various books on Parkers, I recommend you contact Jimmy Hall and get the back issues. I have about half of them and intend to get the other half when I have some extra change. There are some good articles back there.

I have every intention of doing so, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

I did pick up a couple of back issues that appeared for sale on ebay a while back and they were very enjoyable!

Right Mills, and I will add that the majority of the past issues of Parker Pages contain information, much of which has been discovered since the publication of The Parker Story (our Parker bible) and isn't found anywhere else. These past issues are a priceless source of new Parker information and facts as well as the information found in the earliest issues.

Imagine my chagrin when this morning I discovered that on the cover photo of this Fall Issue I had misidentified Craig Larter's CHE as a ten-guage gun when it is in fact a twelve-gauge.

My most humble apologies to Craig Larter and to our readership.

Got mine today and I never would have even noticed that Larter's CHE was labeled as a 10 gauge. I bet Craig WISHES it was a 10 gauge!!
Great issue again Dean-o.
