A good o/u 410 is a Rizzini, I have LL BEAN edition and of course 3 Win 42's which is the best 410 for the money if you don't mind a pump, I have also owned a superposed and a citori both very good, but I sure would like a VHE.

For decades I had lusted for a Parker VHE 410 skeet gun. When one would come up for sale it was out of my reach financially then a friend had a Fox FE by CSM that was near new and half the price point of the Parker. I managed to get the Fox and couldn't be happier with it.

I have a second year production mod. 42 28" modified choke which I shoot a few times through the summer and use on squirrels. Love the gun. Also have the browning with full chokes. A fine gun to own and shoot. Put a fair amount of SC and skeet rounds through a Ceasar Garrini Tempio 410 which is a solid gun and fits me well. In all I tend to shoot WIN AAs or AA reloads with 296 powder.
PS - BIG D - just took 6 hi standards to the auction as I accumulated a few over the years but kept all the ones I couldn't part with. Like you the last to go would be the 1950 Olympic 22 short. Also won't part with the Hi Standard K411 pump in skeet chokes .410

Gman Is the 1950 gun a slant grip, or military grip? Mike's a military 106.

I have many 42's and and have never shot one as well as a cutt's compensator gun I sold years ago. The balance and the visualization of the cutt's as a larger barrel made breaking clay targets easy. Yes they are ugly but a solid rib With an add on cutt's will run you $1100-$1300 many times with nice wood.

I've always liked the look of a Cutt's. Some guns could be ordered new with a Cutt's.

Slant grip. It is referred to as a Lever name model, or second model Olympic (first mod had a curved magazine) . It preceded the M101 etc. This has the weights, box and papers and I was able to find an original spare mag for it. I really like the 22 short and also have a Flight King in that cal. If you haven't already been there the John Stimson Hi Standard Web sight is a wealth of info.

Interesting thing about the good ol Cutts. I have two .410's and a 28 Remington 11-48's with what i was told were factory cutts. The interesting thing about the .410's is that the compensator tube is backwards, directing gasses forward to create more recoil in order to cycle the spring action with 2 1/2 " target ammo.

Tx- If it's factory cutts there shouldn't be a choke marking on the chamber
