Final batch!

Finally, I shot a round of 25 targets on the (clay) pigeon ring with the 14 & 1/2 pound DH 8 gauge. I broke and generally dusted 22 of those targets. Granted I was throwing 1 & 3/4 ounces of #7.5 shot but hey, it's an 8 gauge! To my knowledge I had the high score of the day.
After that round C.O.B. says to me, "You can't shoot that gun (or did he say cannon?) in the spring shoot". Unlike the informal summer shoot there is prize money in the spring pigeon ring and ol' Rich is already counting his expected winnings! :rotf: You got to know Rich! |
FWIW the hammer gun is a J Venables & Son back action 16ga with 30 inch barrels. A joy to shoot esp with 7/8th oz loads. There's more to life than just Parkers:eek:

36" 8 gauge!!! Swing that on a fast crosser!!
|
I have seen him do it with a 36 inch 10ga!

Dean I think you need to broaden your horizons somewhat:rotf: Shoot a little out of the box so to speak. Next to my Parker 32 inch 16ga hammer gun that Venables is one of my favorites.:draw:
