Brian, I think guns are outlawed in Calgary. You'd better send it down here...

Well I am up here on loan from the US. They do have a few issues with gun ownership up here that is for sure and this fine parker will be coming home with me next year.

The interesting part is when they ram rodded there long gun registry through parliament in the late 90's (it was dismantled last year), I have been told that people were giving their guns away for penny's or just giving them away period. Many were given to police agency's and destroyed....ouch! Not all smart collectors gave theirs away but many great collections were built at that time. The other side is that 50% of the long guns were never registered as the law dictated. You can always tell a "unregistered" or was "never" registered gun under the now de-funked law......since it was in the rafters of a house and never brought out the oil turned to yellow grease, the metal is peppered with rust and the finish/recoil pad is cracked and dry as a cobb.

The short story is there are a lot of collectable guns hiding in rafters and closets up here. Sorry for my rambling!

Brian from Ohio US / on loan to CA.

A few years ago on our trips to and from Alaska there were quite a few billboard size signs in northern British Columbia that just said "80% Non-Compliance"!!
