Charlie. That case is to long for my gun. Mine is 60mm but thank you for keeping an eye out. Craig my gun is proofed for a steel jacked bullet. I used a cast bullet to test fire the gun with because I have a small handful of them. There is no loading available that I can find so I am using data for a case that is similar in water capacity to mine.

Wayne, I found a few dozen jacketed 10.75 bullets if you want them.

Thank you Edger. I would like to have them.I will PM you with my address.

Well the double rifle made it to the range today. Took three days to make brass for it. Wont bother to go through the process, but took up lots of lathe time. I made forty cases out of 45/70 used brass. They are about a quarter in short but work as is. Choreographed the first loads and the right barrel was 2123fps and the left barrel shot the chronograph. Had to give up the speed testing and concentrated on the 100 yard gong. Fired the first round and the recoil caused my right hand to move rearward and set off the second barrel and it was a perfect double with both rounds striking the gong. Boy was that a surprise, and a little painfull not to mention a little embarrassing. Seems like a crowd had gathered around by that time. Well back to the reloading bench.

Wayne are you planning to hunt with this gun?

Can we see a picture of the chronograph after it was "shot"? The ammunition that Edgar generously sent me were supposed to be 11.15X65 for my exposed hammer Sauer driller. Lucky for me, this cartridge is about identical to a 2 1/2" .410, which is what I shoot in it. The plastic from the wad does not seem to load up the deep rifling.

Ah yes, you're right. Your memory is better than mine, Bill

Mike I would like to kill a bore with it if I can get it to regulate. The chronograph actually belonged to a friend of mine and it wasn't the cheap model. I am sorry but I didn't have my camera along. The chronograph survived . Just had to replace one of the side pieces and a sky screen. I should have known better than to shoot an unregulated double through a chronograph. I fired a few more rounds yesterday. It doubled on me again. With the horn trigger guard it is hard to keep my finger on the front trigger under recoil. Dam that hurts.

Edgar, I shot four of the 11.65x65 loaded shells you sent me to test. Apparently, they are good for the bore. I shot them at 50 yards and plan to get a better sighting situation with some gold lines and such. I am not "bore sighted" to 50 yard targets with these drilling sights. However, I sent three .44 caliber slugs downrange and put them in three holes at 50 yards, two in the same hole, and one two inches away. One flyer should be corrected by some work on the ten pound or more trigger on the right barrel. I have one 16 gauge slug that I will fire soon, out of the cylinder bore right barrel. After some modification of the sights, and the trigger pull, I may have a one hole shooter at 50 yards. The rifled slug pattern is to be studied when shot.
