Dean Romig 04-11-2013 10:52 AM

A slight chance of sprinkles in the morning. High for the day around 56 with afternoon breezes up to 8 mph.

Sounds like a GO! to me.

Dave Suponski 04-11-2013 11:04 AM

Guy's I just picked up the shirts. They look great! The price this year will be the same as years past. $15.00 each. If possible please have exact change as it just make's things easier. See you boy's Saturday.

Also just talked with Jack at Addieville and we are confirmed for Saturday...Member's rate's for targets.

Chuck Bishop 04-11-2013 12:59 PM

Hope the weather hold up for you guys. Have a great shoot!

Dean,
I took a look in the freezer last night and spotted some Smoked Kielbasa, Hamburg, and Hot Dogs. All with "Hidden Venison" of course.:)

allen newell 04-11-2013 02:47 PM

Edgar, my sweet Italian sausages are made with the following ingredients: fennel, garlic, salt, pepper, thyme, parsley, oregano and romano cheese. I added a small amount of red pepper flakes just to boost the flavor a bit. You can wash one of these down Edgar with a shot of the single malt I will bring along (after the shoot of course). I'll even throw in some suitable glass to drink it 'neat'.

Weather forecast for Mapleville, R.I. as of a minute ago shows: a high of 55 degrees and low of 36 degrees. A warming trend for sure. wind should not be a problem - my shooting will be terrible whether there's wind or not for sure!

Eric Eis - in response to your question re: my going to the Southern. It's a 12 hr ride from my home in Plymouth, Ma and although I've driven much farther and longer times in the past, I just don't feel like driving it alone and there's been no takers on a ride share so far so I will probably pass on it this year. Thanks for asking though.

allen newell 04-11-2013 03:09 PM

Larry, those smoked sausage sticks you brought the last time were terrific and that jerkey! Any left or did we eat your stash?

Larry Frey 04-11-2013 03:23 PM

Allen,
Those are gone for this season. A few more deer will have to make the ultimate sacrifice before we will have more.

allen newell 04-11-2013 03:26 PM

ARGH!

That shouldn't present much of a problem... I hear Deb is pretty handy with a bow.

allen newell 04-11-2013 06:38 PM

Dave S., Larry F. Dean R. - I assume Addieville's grills are gas supplied and we don't have to bring our own gas, oops, .....I mean propane...

Dean Romig 04-11-2013 06:49 PM

That's right Allen, but it never hurts to have a back-up.

allen newell 04-11-2013 06:59 PM

Maybe a few of the gents will have some gas.......

Dean, I have a spare tank that's full and can throw it in the car.

John Dallas 04-11-2013 07:44 PM

They'll probably have lots of gas after dinner

allen newell 04-11-2013 07:54 PM

You got that right! LOL

Dean Romig 04-11-2013 09:03 PM

Allen, I thought you had corrected yourself earlier on the "gas" issue... propane is the term you used. Methane is what we'll be producing after finishing off your sausages.

allen newell 04-12-2013 06:34 AM

Weather forecast shows no change: 55 high/36 low.
Hourly temps for Saturday are as follows:
9 am-41*
10 am-43*
11 am-46*
12 pm-50*
1 pm-52*
2 pm-54*
3 pm-55*

Wind out of the WNW around 8 mph

Dean Romig 04-12-2013 06:56 AM

That's considerably nicer than when we shot there in January.

allen newell 04-12-2013 07:02 AM

Could be a near perfect day Dean. Except for the shooting of course, esp. mine! Looking forward to getting together with the gents and meeting spouses.

By the way, before I lug a full tank of propane down there, I will call Addieville today to inquire on their supply of propane for their grill(s).

Dave Suponski 04-12-2013 07:16 AM

Allen, Don't bother they will have plenty.Everything is all set. Just bring guns, shells and sausage.

allen newell 04-12-2013 07:21 AM

Ok, thanks Dave. By the way everyone, the forecast for today in Mapleville shows rain. So the path around the course may be muddy/wet tomorrow. Footwear...

Dave Suponski 04-13-2013 08:33 PM

The day was cloudy and cool but a great time none the less. We had 20 shooters and a fantastic lunch. My camera died so we are waiting on picture from some of the guy's that attended. Come on boy's post 'em up.

Everyone should keep in mind that this is where the 2013 Vintagers and PGCA Annual Meeting will be held... right here at Addieville East Farm in Mapleville Rhode Island. It is a great shooting venue with challenging sporting clays stations, 5-Stand and more. Robin Hollow Outfitters is on the grounds as well and Bill should be well stocked with all kinds of sporting eye candy and some of the nicest SXS guns you can see.

scott kittredge 04-14-2013 06:17 AM

i had a great time until the 5 stand:crying:Oh and Chris Triavinski shot an OUTSTANDING score, good job Chris!!, thanks for the great food and company too , see you in pa in a few months, scott

Tell the truth, Allen. Who took the carrot cake home?

Dean Romig 04-14-2013 08:55 PM

That was some good carrot cake!

allen newell 04-14-2013 08:57 PM

You know Edgar, I was halfway home and realized that I didn't take a couple of pieces for Jean. I almost turned around but figured someone would have already taken what was left. Please tell your wife that she still holds the record for making the best carrot cake. It spiked my blood sugar, I can tell you that!!! But no regrets.

It was a fun time and my shooting actually improved dramatically over the January shoot. Maybe someday I'll be in the same league as you AND GEORGE! God only knows for sure.

edgarspencer 04-14-2013 09:52 PM

You have no idea how difficult it was to leave it behind.

allen newell 04-14-2013 10:00 PM

You have no idea how difficult it was for me not to turn around. I feel your pain.

Dave Suponski 04-14-2013 10:24 PM

Geez, It's wonderful! We just had a piece....

It stands to reason You would be the guy who took it home. You steal shotshell boxes, right out of the back of my car.
I hope you eat the whole cake, get fat, pop you top button, and put your eye out from the ricochet.

Guy with the pickle in his hand;Co-conspirator

allen newell 04-15-2013 07:07 AM

I think he shot blanks at this station but claimed all 6!

Dean Romig 04-15-2013 07:25 AM

The guy with the pickle in his hand had nothing to do with it but I suspect the real carrot cake abductor was more likely to have been the shooter's son while the shooter simply turned a 'blind eye'.

Chuck Bishop 04-15-2013 08:13 AM

Where is the weather report for today?:p
