Bill Murphy 01-23-2013 09:49 AM

Barrel set 148337 on auctionarms.com today, January 23, 2013. Seller ID is fpshooter. The original gun is a D2 no extras, but the barrels are ejector barrels, cut to 26".

Bill Murphy 01-24-2013 10:21 AM

32" Titanic barrels, 232769 . Came from a 28" 2 barrel, fully optioned set. This is a gun to find.

Eric Eis 01-24-2013 02:02 PM

What the hell, I am still looking for damacus 16 ga O frame 30" barrels with ejectors. I know one of our members has a set and hopefully I can wear him down to let go of them.....

Bill Murphy 01-24-2013 06:35 PM

Have patience. They are out there.

Jeff Christie 02-04-2013 05:16 PM

I have a VH 16 ga 1 frame serial number 158321 with a mismatched fore end. The fore end's number is 204898 and might be from a 1 1/2 frame gun. It fits perfectly and works the same. The gun was originally shipped to Minnesota and I bought the gun in the early 1990's out of somewhere in MN as well. I would like to get everything back to its original gun provided they still work as intended. The gun is a shooter-not a looker- and it shoots very well. I can't see the numbers when I shoot so they don't bother me. Still it would be nice to correct the record.

Please PM me as I do not check this thread often.

Guys I have barrels for D grade 74151 2 frame extractor damascus, barrels in great shap would like to trade for 28 or 30" vulcan 1frame 16ga, Gary

Bill Murphy 02-05-2013 11:54 AM

OK, we have our first hit. Gary, where did you get those barrels? Yup, I have the gun. I don't imagine that you also have the forend, do you? email me at wilmrph@verizon.net and post on here for everyone's enjoyment.

Gary Carmichael Sr 02-05-2013 02:43 PM

Bill, I bought them from a walk in at the Greensboro gun show. He was walking around and came by our table with a set of barrels in a sleeve I ask what he had and he pulled them out. Of course I bought them the were in good condition. I also posted the barrels on the WTB site for a possible trade for the 1 frame 16ga Vulcan brls I am looking for Now here is the kicker those barrels must have been made along with the gun for a left handed shooter, because the barrels are Right barrel I/C and the Left Full BWT Right brl .042 Left brl .050 at the thinnest place measured to 15" in from muzzle. On top of that he was from Pilot Mountain and told me he had a 16ga hammer gun if I would like to see it he would bring it the next day. He did and also brought a grade 2 10ga that my son bought. I am flabbergasted that someone owns the " rest of the story" I will e-mail you Bill

George M. Purtill 02-05-2013 03:10 PM

Yahoo- the Lost and Found works!!

Gary Carmichael Sr 02-05-2013 03:35 PM

Bill, I cannot get the e-mail to go thru comes back as undeliverable, call me 540-745-6991

Bill Murphy 02-05-2013 04:17 PM

I got the email, Gary. Thanks for the information about how you got the barrels. I just remember I know where the forend is, but I may not be able to get it. No big deal, I should be able to find a forend. Sorry I don't have the 16 gauge barrels you are looking for. Yes, the Lost and Found thread works. For the readers, the gun letters to a store in Berwick, PA. and was made with 30" cylinder and full barrels, just about like Gary described them. 7 pounds, 8 ounces. This is the back end that wore the two sets of Bernard barrels that were reunited with the lost CH "Charleston Gun" last year. So now that story comes full circle.

Todd Burdick 02-05-2013 05:20 PM

I have Parker Repro 20-2938 receiver and stock. (PG, SST)

Looking for the barrels and forend.

Todd

Eric Eis 02-07-2013 09:53 AM

I have a B grade splinter ejector forend for a 12 ga B grade that had a Beavertail forend as noted in the book, so this must have been sent back to Remington for the splinter forend. It is new with Remington colors full checkering and B grade engraving on latch. If anyone has this gun let me know otherwise next week I will be puting it in the for sale forum. Serial number 224385 Eric

Gary Carmichael Sr 02-07-2013 05:20 PM

Just a short note, Talked to Bill, the barrels are headed home to be reunited with the stock and receiver! This lost and found works, they are really nice barrels and I hope Bill will post some photo's when he puts her back together, will be listening for that sigh when they are rejoined. Gary

Bill Murphy 02-07-2013 05:33 PM

Gary and I just arranged everything and now the gun that once wore the two sets of Bernard barrels from the famous "Charleston" gun will be a whole gun again. Two "Reunited Guns" in one year.

Dean Romig 02-07-2013 09:43 PM

Murphy must be livin' right lately for providence to be smiling on him like this.

John Havard 02-07-2013 11:37 PM

Maybe if I live to be 300 years old……...

George M. Purtill 02-08-2013 05:28 AM

Left side lock plate with guts for Grade 1/0 26802 on ebay right now.

Bill Murphy 02-12-2013 09:55 AM

I received the #74151 barrels from Gary yesterday, clicked them onto the receiver for the first time in I can't imagine how many years. It looks even better than it did with the Bernard barrels. Almost the end of a happy story.

Eric Eis 02-12-2013 10:08 AM

"Almost the end of a happy story"

Why almost.....?

Dean Romig 02-12-2013 10:29 AM

All's well that ends well.

Bill Murphy 02-12-2013 03:12 PM

Eric, the forend isn't home yet. I have one around here somewhere, but can't find it. Maybe I can talk Dean out of the one he just bought. It is a non ejector D Grade if I remember correctly.

Dean Romig 02-12-2013 04:30 PM

One was lost in transit two weeks ago and the other one I sent to someone who wanted it a bit more than I did.

What gauge Bill?

Bill Murphy 02-14-2013 01:51 PM

12 gauge #2 frame DH Grade non ejector. #1, #1 1/2, and #2 frame forends are all 1 5/8" across the rear tips.

Bill Murphy 02-14-2013 01:57 PM

Does anyone have a DH 10 gauge, # 230238 Titanic Steel gun? I have the #1 barrel set of for this gun. Yeah, a fluid steel ten gauge two barrel set. The barrels came out of PA. I will not promise that these barrels will be available for sale.

Thanks to Jim DiSpagno, forend, barrels and frame have all been reunited. Now we just need to find an early stock to complete it.

Russ Jackson 03-29-2013 05:46 PM

Good for you David !

Dean Romig 03-29-2013 08:52 PM

Hold on a minute Dave. That doesn't appear to be the standard Twist pattern seen on a Grade 1 hammerless gun. What is the serial number of the barrels please?

Maybe Drew can educate us on that pattern.... Drew?

Can't get anything by Dean can ya. I have been patiently waiting for a PH. I hope this one is worthy, so far it has been a challenge. Its taking a trip up north for some well deserved R and R. Dave

Dean Romig 03-30-2013 06:03 AM

Thanks Dave. That's a rare bird indeed.

George M. Purtill 03-30-2013 06:08 AM

The letter says Laminated steel?
That is not laminated in the pictures is it?

Dean Romig 03-30-2013 06:12 AM

Yes it is George. There were/are various patterns of Laminated Steel depending on the era of manufacture because of the various manufacturers or sources Parker Bros. bought them from.

Interesting also is the fact that it is lister as a PT in the Ser book.

George M. Purtill 03-30-2013 08:11 AM

Very pretty pattern for what people normally think of as dull Laminated steel.
