Be careful shipping a gun with UPS or Fedex without telling them it is a gun. I have been told by employees of both companies that if the item is damaged and they discover that it is a gun the insurance is void and they turn the gun over to the feds. I use the post office and have had good luck with them so far.

There seems to be a lot of difference between the east coast and the west. The people at my FedEx and UPS don't want or need to see an FFL any longer. One instance, a few months ago, I was asked what was in the box and I told him it was a collectible side X side shotgun and then I asked him if that mattered. He said no, but we just want to make sure there are no references to guns on the outside of the box so we don't have to worry about it disappearing in transit. I watched him as he went to the next customer and wrote nothing down about the contents of the box. So, I know there was nothing officially recorded in their system about a gun. I think it completely depends on the agent you get and the part of the country you live in.

The bottom line is clear!
By UPS and FedX Policy ONLY FFL Dealers and Individual with C&R are permitted to ship guns or gun parts.
Registration is required.
