Good for you Gary.

I'm sorta in that mode too but if something nice comes along, ya gotta do it.

I'm not sure what a Sharps .45-70 business rifle is???

And make sure you're enjoying yourself.

I recently bought this DH 12ga 26" damascus gun from a fine member here. My second purchase from him. Thanks Dave, it will make an awesome 1st day of dove season gun!

So who is going to be the new owner of the A1 Special coming up in a major auction in August??? Not me but appears to be a great example.

Hadn’t heard of this ! I assume it’s G&D ? Is it the A-1 that’s been restocked 12 gauge 32” ?

Original 26" 12 gauges are hard to find. At least, I do not see many. Agree it would be great for doves

Unfortunately, this one has been cut to 26" but it does still have some constriction in the left barrel.

I had VH/VHE 12-16-20 all with factory original 26” IC/M barrels . Now my only 26 inches are VHE 12 and 16 skeets .

Gary, isn’t it amazing what those Parker SBT’s will do.

A couple on the way.

January or February I picked up my long sought 32" 20g. It's a VH with excellent dimensions for me. Choked F/F it turns clays into diesel smoke. Sold two other guns to buy this one but it was well worth it.

Alfred Houde 06-26-2024 05:46 PM

No SxS's but did add another Browning.

An SC 32” or 34” is nice no doubt . But my best trap singles work was done with a K-32 that had a K-80 34” unsingle barrel on it .

And I had to settle for that 30" VH 20 ga. last year. Mine shoots good. I guess from what ya said yours does also. Good shooting with that gun Mike.

John, You are right! The gun seems to be a part of me, just need a lot of practice, and Bill Sharps were Buffalo guns mainly, I have one that weighs 14 pounds shoot from sticks or a bench with it, Gary

I had a DHE 20 30”straight grip that I shot really well but I thought I needed a 32” so I got a VH 20 32”. I shot both pretty well but did slightly better with the 30” gun . Now I have neither so it’s a moot point .

Hi Gary,

I didn't know what the "business rifle" was. I never heard that term used for a Sharp's.

I'm sure your 14 pounder shoots very well. Any buffalo hanging around your neck of the woods?

Thanks Gary.

A new old Parker

I was recently given a Parker, serial #81692. The person who gave it to me thought it had no value and said it was just a wall hanger. I did some research and found it was a grade 7 AAHE model made in 1895. I believe it's all there and could be brought back to original condition. I have a question, do I sell it as is or get it restored?

Thanks

Bill Murphy 06-29-2024 04:24 PM

Post some pictures of your AA Grade.

Thanks

It all depends on the size of your wallet, the knowledge you have about The Gun, finding the right restoration specialist and your patience.

Craig Larter 06-29-2024 05:53 PM

Wow another high grade undiscovered. Hedley you need to post pictures and proceed very carefully with a AAHE. If the gun is "all there" and in worn but mostly original condition full restoration rarely makes sense. Go slow and ask many questions. Craig Larter

CraigThompson 06-29-2024 07:18 PM

Hedley the link you posted doesn’t work without permission .
