I remember being at the Vintage Cup at Pintail Point in either ‘07 or ‘08 when those Remington/CSMC guns debuted. MSRP was $49k. Cool guns.

Dean Romig 03-11-2023 12:43 PM

There was one on display at the PGCA booth at Pintail I believe… and it was a 28 gauge.

I think some clarifications are needed about Remington's attempts to reintroduce the Parker shotgun. They tried to do it themselves in 1988 --

with an AHE 20-gauge with 28-inch vent rib barrels. One of these guns with a full-pistol grip and beavertail forearm was finally finished in July 2005, serial number XS0606 and was given to the PGCA to auctioned off in September 2005.

Then circa 2007/8 Remington tried again with the CSMC built AAHE 28-gauges --

Received a reply from Connecticut Shotgun. I simply asked for the serial # and the asking price. The reply, I quote:

Thank you for your interest, we currently have a deposit on the gun and several people interested so I am sure it is sold. One person is actually willing to pay more than the gun is posted for.

So someone is willing to pay more than POR?

J. Scott Hanes 03-11-2023 09:19 PM

If "Rich" is to be believed. Sure is a puzzling situation.

They’d like you to think that :rotf::rotf::rotf: And I’d bet my right leg that if someone offered them more and pony’d up the money the guy that supposedly left a deposit would quickly recieve a refund check !

Donald McQuade 03-12-2023 09:44 AM

My buddy has one of the Remington/CSMC AAHEs in 28 ga. They are very nice guns. We are attending Jay's R.I. get together in April and I will see if I can talk him into bringing it along.

Dean Romig 03-12-2023 10:10 AM

Whan is Jay’s shoot again?
I wrote it down… someplace… ?

Not at all surprised, John. In fact, if I know Lou that one was probably sold by the second or third call from his black book. Most likely exhumed from a very luxurious "closet" located somewhere between Darien and Greenwich.

John Davis 03-12-2023 12:05 PM

It just seems to be an odd statement that someone was willing to pay more than the posted price, when no price was posted.

Dean Romig 03-12-2023 12:13 PM

Wishful seller’s double-speak.

Sad thing is that gun will probably never be shot or know the joys of sitting in a gun rack at the Southern SxS

At any shoot Ed. That gun will probably be a closet queen if it was even actually sold.

Bill Murphy 03-12-2023 01:29 PM

It is a mystery to me that this gun sold quickly when the "Cliff Green Guns", just as interesting, or more so, are still unsold after being on the market for years.

Dean: April 2nd is what I see maintained as the date, with Jay's last post on the thread dated a couple of weeks ago.

It is in the Non-PGCA Shooting Events....section, in the thread entitled "3rd Annual Southern RI Parker Shoot".

Dean Romig 03-12-2023 04:20 PM

Thanks Russell !

I think this is my first post but I’ve been a member for awhile. Yes, my dear friend Don McQuade and I will be at the shoot in Rhode Island and I will bring the CSMC/Remington/Parker AAHE 28 gauge for anyone to see and examine it. I do know some of the history of that project. Don and I took advantage of a fine day yesterday in Madison to shoot it, along with Don’s Parker 16 and his Baker SBT. Followed by cigars and bourbon (and Scotch when the bourbon ran dry) by the fireplace. A great day. Looking forward to Rhode Island.

J. Scott Hanes 03-14-2023 12:59 PM

Just this morning while perusing GI, I see that Connecticut Shotgun has supposedly sold the J. Cliff Green shotguns "as is". ??

Dean Romig 03-14-2023 07:33 PM

Steven Wilson 03-25-2023 10:20 PM

So, I won’t compromise a message sent to me as a PM, other than to say there will probably be 2 of these CSMC/Remington/Parkers at the Rhode Island shoot next week I am happy to show mine to everyone and will bring extra 28 ga ammo so anyone that wants to shoot it is certainly welcome It is really an awesome shotgun.

Jack Puglisi told me about a AAHE 410 that was part of the Congdon Mansion in Duluth Minnesota. It was fired during a break in at the Congdon estate, and taken to the police station for evidence. It then disappeared. Jack had been on the lookout for this particular gun for years. The mansion now is part of the University of Minnesota as a gift!

Steven Wilson 04-03-2023 05:35 PM

That is some classy hardware to pepper a burglar with!
