The Parker market must be on fire. Most sold significantly above the high estimate.
For those that missed, here are my notes on hammer prices. Add 20 percent for the total price. -Victor |

I'm in awe, this auction is establishing a new floor on collectible shotgun values.
|
I’m done! Got one of two, and I’m sure I helped a member get more for his gun.

No idea. I think 13K plus 20 percent. |
PS. I was surprised how thin the barrel walls were on some of those reworked Parkers. Caught my eye.
|
Yeah the AAHE 20, cut barrels, thin walls and restored and other modifications sold for something around 24k. That doesn’t seem to be a prudent purchase. Some very nice guns sold for some very nice prices. Congratulations to Josh!

I think I am done...I got 1 of my 2 bids...

VH 28g with a bulged bbl for $6600
|
Which one Jay?
|
Stan, Ithaca 4E 10g straight grip?
|
I almost rather not say as it wasn't a Parker. I did come close on that restored 8 gauge TA hammer gun with 36" barrels, but I let it go to hopefully a member here.
|
Must admit I was looking at the Repro 28 gauge with the twin triggers and Beavertail and Q1 and Q2 chokes. 7K plus the 20 percent was a bit too much.

I’m not in love with straight grip guns:) |
Hope one of our members got the SA-1 trap gun!

Yup, Tom, I just watched that 26" one barrel set 28 Repro go for about ten grand. How about that 38A and 39? The ammo prices were obscene. We could write a book. To be fair, there were some scarce guns to be had. The Mag 12 Ithaca would be a great gun but for the choke tubes. $36,000 for the A-3 Smith was probably "market" price. Over ten grand for a Durston Special and about thirty grand for an E Grade Lefever 20. The little BHE 28 may have been the buy of the sale at over $125,000. However, the companion .410 at over a hundred grand was not quite as good a deal. Mr. Parker could have done as well on the PGCA website, especially with the 28. At least we were able to get our hands on some great guns, and we may see them again. The down side will be trying to sell our meager little collections at fair prices. I have always described my guns as a "shooting collection" and that's what they are. I shoot them all, from AAH to Trojan, 8 gauge to .410, and they will be spread among the members here some day, with no bother about high collector prices.
|
Reggie, all I got was a handful of tailfeathers, but maybe the buyer will turn it loose for a fair profit. That gun was about all I went for.
