I feel I should buy one more next week but I know of nothing I want that I’m willing to pay the price to add to my ever changing accumulation .

Russ Jackson 12-24-2022 06:32 PM

Thank You Mills , I'm surprised you didn't see it ,it was on Gun Broker started at $99.00 and ran for seven days ! The seller never mentioned it being a 1/2 Frame gun but showed clear pictures of that fact but it must have been over looked by many as there ended up with only a half dozen different bidders and only one who had as much interest as I had and ran it up considerably from the $99.00 Starting point at the end of the auction as is normal ! I contacted the Gentleman right away ,as soon as I saw the listing and we discussed the gun via text and e-mail he sent pictures etc., I explained the fact it was a 1/2 Frame which didn't seem to matter much to him , he owned a Gun Shop / Toy Store was in his mid eighties and going out of business !

Not a Parker, but I bought an Ithaca NID Grade 3 Super Ten from a member here. I'm thrilled with the gun as it is in high original condition. Hope to let her loose on some Arkansas green heads after the first of the year.

What a wonderful gun, Stan. Good luck on your Arkansas hunt.

Nice Ithaca Stan. I like the 3 better than the 4 personally.

CraigThompson 12-25-2022 12:14 AM

I had an Ithaca NID Grade 2 Super 10 we’d owned for over forty years and let it go about two months ago .

No new Parkers, but my friend Edgar turned me on to a beautiful set of orphan 20 ga 28"Twist steel barrels for a hammer gun. They required very little fitting on my O frame 16 ga hammer gun , and look great. They probably have been opened up, but I like them that way.
I did pick up a Dickinson 28 ga with 30" barrels , choke tubes, and a 14 7/8 LOP, 5 3/4 lbs. I shot it well in the UP this year and shot some pheasants with it also. Parker friend Kenny Graft turned me on to that one.

allen newell 12-25-2022 10:03 AM

I was slow to buy or sell anything this year. Had some medical issues to address so my mind was elsewhere but in the coming year I hope to pick up a nice 28 ga sxs. Would be nice if it is an original Parker Bros but a Repro 28 would do nicely or Fox 28. I do have a nice Beretta 28 ga o/u that I enjoy shooting but I have the same scourge that most of us have and just want a sxs. When I get the 28 ga sxs, I'll get rid of the Beretta.

Allen, I hope all your medical issues are behind you and that you find the right 28. I have several, but only one Parker. They are all bird slayers.

Xmas came early this year, got this Parker 2 weeks ago at a small gun show. Its a 20ga VHE with 30 inch barrels. Was restored by someone 30+ years ago said the seller. Weight of 6lb 8oz full and full with 2 7/8 inch chambers. Haven't shot it yet but it feels great with 14 1/4 - 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 just as letter says, only thing not in letter was the chambers at 2 7/8.

charlie cleveland 12-25-2022 01:51 PM

sounds like a nice duck gun too me...a nice find......charlie

Phil Yearout 12-25-2022 02:19 PM

No Parkers for me but a Fox J grade SBT sought me out and forced itself on me!

Jeff Elder 12-25-2022 04:56 PM

I just added my great grandfathers VH 28 gauge.

Dean Romig 12-25-2022 07:53 PM

Congrats Jeff but it’s too bad it came to you that way.

Oh no, he died in 1940. My second cousin had it. I swapped him a set of horns off the first steer butchered at Swift and co on the Ft Worth stockyards. My great grandfather was superintendent there.

Good Trade....

2022 acquisitions

I found a few this year including a 32" 16 gauge hammer gun on a 0 frame.
Not too many of those made...

I also picked up a 30" DHE with a vent rib and a Parker single trigger.

Then there was the P marked GHE 12 gauge with 30" barrels that I showed in another thread.

Early in the year I came across a 16 gauge GHE with 28" barrels.

I also found a P grade 12 gauge with 30" Titanic barrels.

But, the one I'm happiest with is the DHE Skeet gun with a beavertail forend, a checkered butt and a Parker single trigger. Although, it is a 12 gauge.

And lastly, one I didn't mention from last year, in fear of taking a lot of heat about it, was the 20 gauge Trojan with 28" barrels and the V grade replacement stock that Cabela's was selling. That gun is lovely shooter and I'm really glad I bought it.

Harold Lee Pickens 12-26-2022 04:58 PM

A 32" 16 ga O frame hammer, wow. would like to see pictures of that-- i have a set of O frame 34" 16 ga barrels, but in horrible shape.

I’d be intrested to see the hammer 16 as well ! I recently got rid of one of the hammer 16’s with 30” barrels and am planning to be rid of the Grade 2 16 30” hammer on the 0 frame as it doesn’t quite fit me .

Jay Oliver 12-26-2022 06:54 PM

I doesn't look like I am going to add anymore Parkers this year so I better post to this...

I added a few back actions one 14 gauge and two in 12b, one is a very early serial #029

I added a nice original condition damascus 16 GHE with 28" barrels choked m/m that is just wonderful. It is a go to gun for sure.

I bought that 32" 20 gauge DHE on an "0" frame that everyone was talking about on GunBroker. Breck Gorman has the barrels and is working his magic and Brian Dudley will soon have the stock and forend and get that looking good. That is going to be a sweet Parker and I can't wait to start using that one!

Last, but certainly not least, I found a beautiful 1927 VH 410 on a "000" frame that shoots as good as it looks.

Overall a great year!

No Parkers added this year but I did add a trio of Lefevers, a DS 20, FE 16, and CE 12. The
DS has 28 inch barrels and is choked .006 & .012, the FE has 26 inch barrels and is choked .010 & .018, and the CE has 30 inch barrels choked .005 & .024.

I can't wait to see pics of it after it's finished, Jay. if you like it as much as I do mine (1 frame) you will be one happy dude. They are dove guns par excellence.

Those Lefevers are extremely nice, James!

Thank you, It makes a really nice Clays gun and is one of my favorites. My wife has taken a liking to the DS 20 gauge at 6lbs 1oz it is an easy carry for her and turns out she is deadly with it ! Well I can't get the picture turned...but you get the idea :)

Here ya go James. Gotta keep you in good graces with the wife :)

Jay Oliver 12-27-2022 08:08 AM

James I like your Lefevers as well. The more I look at Lefevers the more I like them. I have 2 and they are nice, but lower grades.

In 2023, I am going make finding a higher grade damascus gun a priority...they are just too good looking!

Gerald McPherson 12-31-2022 12:13 PM

Nothing. Sold them all. I think I am cured.

Craig Larter 12-31-2022 05:09 PM

Still only added one to the Parker collection in 2022 the Grade 1 TLH 12ga 30 with Lam barrels. Made some room from sales so I hope 2023 will bring some new treasurers my way. Another nice early 12 ga AH would be nice. Happy new years all!

JAMES HALL 12-31-2022 11:51 PM

47314 Grade 3 4 frame 10 gauge.

For 2023 I’d like a VHE 20 26” skeet in skeet out , single trigger , straight grip , checkered butt and fat forend that letters that way , preferably in good original condition . But at this point in my life I can deal with recolored reblued refinished as long as it’s done well . The rub is going to be to find one I like for a price I’m willing to accept

Reggie Bishop 01-01-2023 09:14 AM

I sold the exact gun you speak last year in the neighborhood of 15k.

John Albano 01-01-2023 11:10 AM

Craig, You posted an album with pictures of your early AH guns in March of 22. It looks like you all ready have some beautiful examples. One more probably wouldn’t hurt! John

Rich Anderson 01-01-2023 11:41 AM

I only added three guns. A Winchester 1892 in 25/20 a custom 250 savage on a Kurz Mauser action and one Parker a AAHE 12 with 32 inch barrels. It's from 1917 and the grip cap is engraved Dr. W.R. Ballard MD Bay City MI. Underneath that is the name C. Middleton. I'm not good on the computer but I have been unable to find anything on the good doctor.

Oops make it 4 guns I forgot about the CS Rosson sidelock 16 ga

allen newell 01-01-2023 11:47 AM

sold one gun and bought another...a 28 ga repro.

One would think that AAHE would be picture worthy. :)

Robert Delk 01-02-2023 04:21 PM

Wasn't Middleton the name of the guy who owned the Invincible? I'm away from my references but the gun was left in a mansion and found by the new buyer.Article was in a 1966 or 68 "Guns & Ammo." about finding the gun.

John Albano 01-02-2023 06:02 PM

There is a thread about Middleton’s Invincible in 2010 by George Lander. Sorry my skills don’t permit me to copy and paste here.

Dave Noreen 01-02-2023 07:06 PM

The original article on the A.C. Middleton 16-gauge, 230329, was by Dick Baldwin in the May 1971, Guns and Ammo, back around the time Gary Herman liberated it from the Ford family.

Robert Delk 01-02-2023 07:42 PM

Thanks for the clarification.I'll always remember that article.

Picked up an 1893 GH 77913 12 gauge, #1 Frame, 30" barrels. The book says Capped Pistol Grip. I have no idea what the chokes are yet, but it shoots like gang busters.
