Wow! I make shrimp tikka masala and that is recent dish for me, and I LOVE IT (with chick peas). Will have to try it with a bird.

That does sound good (shrimp & chick peas). For days, I was thinking of making the goose breasts that I got back in November in a cassis & elderberry sauce. Then, on Dec. 30, my wife said she was in the mood for Indian food. You never know what we'll be cooking up next !

Oh well then I'm not surprised. It was a great idea. When creativity comes up I rarely think of it being your idea Mike

Good ideas are good no matter who’s idea they are. You and Julia will get credit, if we run with it. I have some notions running through my noggin on how to proceed.

No cred needed Mike, I think from the posts here it's clear we all like to eat.

This little rifle shoots Norma TAC 22 LR in very tiny five shot groups at 25 and 50 yards . But if the inclination for a shotgun kicks in I suspect a 28 or 20 with 6’s oughtta be okay .

I've always enjoyed squirrel hunting more than just about anything else. I think it's pretty much died out here though which is unfortunate probably goes for most small game hunting in my area though.

I'm partial to birds well hung. Haha, do NOT read that the wrong way!!!

John Dallas 01-08-2022 07:41 PM

I read an article in the British magazine called The Field, which reprinted a hundred year old recipe which recommended hanging the pheasants until you could hear the maggots crawling around in the bird. URRPP

Theres nothing quite like squirrel hunting with a double barrel.
I was seeing some guys argue the other day about how a shotgun tears up squirrels, but I have never had more then 3 or 4 pellets strike the head. Same people usually advocate something like a 17 hmr which is one of the worst things you could shoot a squirrel with.

I shot that squirrel at about thirty yards with a 16 gauge with 32” XF and XF barrels . I was sitting in my climber treestand . Also had my suppressed 10/22 up the tree .

CraigThompson 01-28-2022 11:09 AM

It’s my intention to kill seven more tree rats . I think eight oughtta be enough to make Brunswick stew twice . If I only kill one or two per outing so be it I’m not in a rush
