bill that little 10 reallyamazes me....must be some kinda fun to show and shoot this gun...im gladthat you have told the rest of us gun lovers about it....maybe somebody could do a thread on light tens....thanks charlie ps jack that is a lite set of barrels for a 12 ga...and amazing they look so thin but yet measure .040....i have a 20 ga set that weigh 2 lbs and look paper thin ..i measured them and they are still in safe shooting specs...

Charlie, I also have a steel barrel Lefever ten that weighs 7 pounds 8 ounces. It is some unusual gun. I have not measured the wall thickness because it is in unmolested condition and is as it came from the factory. Some day I will run the Manson gauge down the barrels. It has 28" barrels and is an F or G Grade as I remember. I have never carried this gun in the field, but it would be a pleasure to carry. It is also bored full and modified and will kill a cockbird at 50 yards without a problem.

bill i have a soft spot for those old lefevers...your gun would be a pleasure to tote and shoot...i really like the sound of those 28 in barrels...32 are my favorite lentgh of barrels...but in the field when walking i prefer the shorter barrels...i bet aload of 4 1/4 and a 1 1/4 ounce of lead would make a rooster mighty unhappy settiny on the dinner table..... charlie

Gents, While here in Fla Daryl Middlebrook and myself have committed a cardinal sin, of which we must seek repentence from the man above, We have been shooting english guns, yes I am afraid the deed has been done! But what fun, we are shooting 28gs hammer guns he a holland and holland which I might add he stole from the auction Co. I a William Atkinson. His is damascus, and mine steel, we are shooting his loads very low pressure, thank goodness no other Parker guys have seen us shooting these vile sporting pieces, but no problems with any barrels, but for the important part he hits most of his birds, but I believe my barrels must be bent a tad for I seem to miss a lot and of course it could not be my aim!must go for now for it is George Dickle time.

Gary, Rub it in, down there in Florida. More snow coming to your neck of the woods. Mike
|
Mike, it has been a little cool in in south fla but in low 70's in daytime You take care of all the snow I have talked to the folks in Floyd the kids have not been to school since the 16th of December and looks like it will be even longer with another storm coming glad I am here and not in the hills right now will be back in April. look forward to getting together, maybe the Southern? In the meantime I will try to send some warm air your way, Regards Gary

Look forward to seeing you--My best, Mike

I voluteer to mete out the punishment for Gary's and Darryl's inexcusable indiscretions. I say they send me the offending English weapons as punishment. I will return them when..... well, when I feel like it I guess...:nono: I might agree to lessen the punishment if they agree to post numerous pictures of these 'vile' guns. I'm sure they're horrid looking little sticks.

Gary, please tell Daryl for me that I would really like to see his little Holland and Holland 28 ga. hammer gun and if he'll be at Hausman's in June to please bring it with him.
Best, Dean |
Dean, it has a set of 410 steel barrels with it also, and is in oak and leather case, weight about five pounds, and he got a hellava deal on it. believe it came from Julias. I see him every day will pass along your request

Will start using my go to next week, 16ga dhe 28" barrels, straight stock, Dayrl will use his Parker 28ga, Yea he showed off and brought two 28ga guns. Gary

I must also confess my straying from the true path and yesterday purchased a 7'1" WW Greener 12 bore hammergun. I have been trying to find a light 12ga Parker Hammergun to no avail, and succumbed to the temptation of an English game gun. Sweet thing ,but I must admit it does not have that Parker "magic".
Sort of like dating that girl you did not any your friends to see you with. Now I just need to find a Greener 410 hammergun!! David |
Wow, I know we refer to them as long guns......
