I've added the above mentioned writers to my list. Fortunately, I have them in my library.

Any more suggestions????

Noted author John Davis esq. has been known to shoot a Parker once or twice.

Yup, I mentioned Mills earlier in this thread. Two very nice books to his credit and both have lots(!) of references to Parkers.

There is a writer fellow from Kansas, initials P.Y., that has been known to carry a Parker or 2--heard he plays a little guitar also, right Phil?

And I believe said writer fellow took a double on pheasants with his Parker.

Mills Morrison 02-22-2021 12:23 PM

P Y and Garry Gordon have both contributed to Parker Pages as have several other posters on this this thread

Hey Mills read your PP article last night. I also have a GH 16 O frame damascus that has 27" barrels. Story was it fell over and dented the muzzles--was born with 28". Forget the weight, think it is around 6 lbs 3 oz.

Sorry; I missed your reference. Or else my reading comprehension is suspect...

Harold, "a little" pretty much covers it...:)

Maybe at least an asterisk for Hal Lyman, as I am not aware of his having written any hunting stories.

He was a SALT WATER SPORTSMAN magazine colleague of Frank Woolner, who wrote TIMBERDOODLE! and GROUSE and GROUSE HUNTING, and with whom he collaborated on fishing books, and is photographed and cited in Woolner’s bird hunting stories, albeit described as “lost without his 16-gauge English double”. But, he did own a Parker Invincible.

I know Larry. He's the guy on the right with a Parker Repro. I'm on the left, with an H&H RSE

At one time Larry had one of the rather scarce Savage-era 16-gauge Fox-Sterlingworths built on the flat-sided SP-frame.

Steve Smith at one time wrote about hunting grouse and woodcock with his VH 16.

Contemporary outdoor writer and PGCA member Garhart Stephenson hunts with a 10 ga Parker EH.

Mills Morrison 02-25-2021 02:47 PM

Also Isaac McLellan, the poet of the rod and gun

Destry L. Hoffard 02-26-2021 10:01 PM

Destry L. Hoffard, Double Gun Journal author and occasional waterfowl columnist for the national organ of Waterfowl USA shoots a Parker. Hah!
