Another is a near mint, 1880s Lindner Daly hammer gun, a two barrel set, ten gauge, near Diamond Quality, marked by Thomas Golcher of Philadelphia with 28" and 32" wonderful Damascus barrels. My favorite Parker this year is a unique 30" 20 gauge Trojan, lettered by PGCA in that configuration. Another is a great little Inland Steel (General Motors) M1 Carbine, given to me by a very good friend who also owns General George C. Patton's DHE 20 gauge Parker bird gun, among other Patton memorabilia.

You would be dangerous to hang out with...as my wife would say...you might expand my interests!

Garry, it's nice to be recognized for something other than my asparagus patch. Yup, I have varied interests in the gun, shooting and hunting areas, but my sixty year Parker collection is my major interest. My trip to Ilion in 1998 with the PGCA Research Committee was and is the highlight of my collecting career. I am 74 years old and still shoot three or four days a week and buy Parkers and other interesting artifacts on a weekly basis. I also shoot a box bird when I can afford them.

Bill, Keep at it, and keep posting...I like to learn(...and I have let my asparagus patch go to heck, but still like wild morels). I'm appreciative of all of those who helped codify the records and make them available. Thanks for adding to my knowledge base.

My only non Parkers were the two custom rifles which I have previously posted pictures of. Only 3 guns last year I usually can do that at the Southern!:rotf: Must be getting old

Eric Eis 12-18-2019 02:19 PM

I was doing great (in my wife's eyes) no purchases and sold a couple, doing good, then Palmer had to put up that Lefever 16 ga! I was so, so close but couldn't cross the finish line..............

Mills Morrison 12-18-2019 02:21 PM

I have a Lefever 16 on the way, but it is not as nice as the one Eric mentions. Still, it appears to be a good, honest G grade that ought to be great for the remainder of the upland bird season.

I sure hope it lasts longer than that!.....

Mills Morrison 12-18-2019 02:46 PM

I hope so too.

I don't get too excited about guns until they arrive and check out, but I have high hopes for this one.

Stay tuned

Grade 3 LC 16 30" chain damascus F/F

0 Grade 16 damascus 28 F/F

Tom, you've got some mighty fine examples of the wonderful 16! (And I agree with Eric, the E Lefever sounds like perfection.)

Bill Murphy 12-19-2019 04:16 PM

It looks like E Grade Lefever 16s are being snapped up at a great rate. Congratulations to the buyers. I would have owned Josh's high condition E 16 if I didn't already own two great E 16s. One is the first hammerless top lever Lefever made, the other is a very high condition push lever from Gunbroker. Maybe I need three. Next.

Bill Murphy 12-19-2019 04:37 PM

Non Parkers, huh? A great little CSMC .22 Model 21 to control the squirrels in the tree line next to the house, a first year .410 Superposed long tang, round knob, 28" Full and Full, if they take off running. Sorry, I was a little light on Parkers this year, but the year is not over yet.

Mills Morrison 12-19-2019 04:43 PM

Non Parker additions include

C Grade Fox that probably needs a new stock
12 Gauge Sterlingworth with 32 inch barrels

2 Remington semi auto rifles, one 308 and one 30-06

A revolver I know nothing about but was free from a friend's estate

Dave Noreen 12-19-2019 06:54 PM

Reaped my reward for my good work with the snow blower on this am's dump. While I was out doing the snow the LGS called that my late Remington Parker was in.

Phil Yearout 12-19-2019 07:45 PM

My buying days are pretty much over - Parker or otherwise. I'm just hoping for time enough to do justice to the guns I have.

charlie cleveland 12-19-2019 09:02 PM

phil im about in the same boat as you...i was trying to find a place to put some shotgun shells this evening no place to put them..guess i ll put them up for sale here on the for sale list..3 boxes of winchester 14 gauge they are about 1975 made hope somebody needs them....charlie

Gerald McPherson 12-20-2019 11:58 AM

I thought I was done after selling a few but then bought another. A Dh Damascus 12 ga 28 inch. The more I shoot it the more I like it. I have tried several different shells and now shooting Winchester Lite Target no. 7 1/2 and 8 shot that seems to be doing well so far. I also bought a Champion Wheely Bird Two that has a remote that I really like. I think my shooting is improving. I also bought A JC Higgins mod 30 ( High Standard) 22 auto at a local auction just because I liked it and had one years ago that my brother has now. So here we go again. What next?

Robert Brooks 12-20-2019 12:31 PM

I bought a 20 gauge BHE this year and sold it about a month later. Bobby

Gary Carmichael Sr 12-25-2019 01:12 PM

Well, Bought a couple 20 ga hammer guns, one a steel barreled P grade, one was Austins old 20, bought a stellar 10 ga from Josh, and added a Sharps mid range # 1, with letter, sold an 8 ga, and a couple 12 ga high grade guns, Gary

Mills Morrison 12-26-2019 03:04 PM

I added a Parker clock which works and keeps good time so far.

Bill Holcombe 12-26-2019 10:33 PM

I added a mess of winchesters and a smith and wesson registered magnum, but any parkers I acquired got traded.

Bill Holcombe 12-26-2019 10:35 PM

2 Attachment(s)
But the wife did give me these for Christmas

Gary Carmichael Sr 12-31-2019 02:23 PM

Mills watch that clock they have been known to do magical things like take you back in time to the 1800's, By the way if you do get transported how about picking me up a 28 gauge hammer gun with Whitworth steel 32" barrels AAH grade, Gary

Mills Morrison 12-31-2019 04:37 PM

Will do Gary!

Well looks like the VH 12 will be the first Parker of 2020

Russ Jackson 12-31-2019 06:53 PM

I never know what for Parker I may purchase along the way , but I just learned today my Original 22" Barrels for my PH Grade , 16 Gauge are finally ready to come home from Bachelder's ! They needed a small repair and Refinish and Jake told me today that they turned out beautiful and they will be ready for shipping on Friday the 3'RD of January ,so I will feel like I have a new Parker in the house !

Dean Romig 12-31-2019 07:24 PM

From the SC auction ? If that’s the case I’ve not received the 10 gauge top lever from them either !

Re twist

[QUOTE=Dean Romig;289007]Russ, are your barrels Parker Steel or are they Twist?

They are Twist I saw that gun here in Downeast before it was sold, it is a sweetie! I think I may have even posted about a couple years back.

Russ Jackson 12-31-2019 09:05 PM

Dean , They are in fact Twist Steel , In The Parker Story it says there is one PT with 23" Barrels but there is no serial # given for the gun ! My gun letters with 22" Twist Steel Barrel and I wonder if the Gun Referred to in TPS is this gun since it letters and is not listed in TPS ! I know alot of the info. is difficult to read just by trying to cypher what has been posted ,I have never actually seen any of the archived info. in person as alot of you fellas have !

Rick , I have owned this gun for quite some time , possibly you are referring when I put it up for sale a couple years ago because I was funding another project ! It didn't sell ,and I am glad it didn't ! If it wasn't this gun ,where did you see it ,It would be interesting to know if there is another !

Rick Riddell 12-31-2019 10:04 PM

Pineos true value had it, sold it on GB. I remember it had a tear are really bad ding in one of the tubes, it had a PGCA letter, might have been sold by Lyons and Coulson or Tryon one those two can’t remember. Here is the post from 2016
http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19427

Russ Jackson 12-31-2019 10:26 PM

Yep ,same gun , I bought it from Pineo's ! I measured the barrel walls and they were pretty good and shot it for Grouse and woodcock ! I decided to sell it and was taking pictures of it , some one had ask a specific question about the ding and when I shone a light in it there was a small tear I had never noticed so I took it off the market and it being such a rare gun ,I sent it to Bachelder's they have repaired it and refinished it ! The barrels have been there since mid 2018 ,that's why I am so pleased to be getting them back !

Rick Riddell 12-31-2019 10:37 PM

Russ it is a sweet little gun! I can’t remember if the guy who sold was Jim Hall a retired wildlife bio ( he has quite a collection from what I hear) up here or not but the story goes he tripped and fell on the gun causing the issues in the barrel. I’m glad it was able to be fixed! It is one hell of a Woodcock/Grouse gun!
