Carl, I have a long barrel beauty in the hopper right now with instructions to remove all safety parts, fill in the slot, and prepare for engraving over the space created. Thanks for the offer.

Kenny, a 12-ga. 28", DT, PG, SPL just showed up...

Thanks Greg....I sent e-mail to buy it....(-: I called but the office was closed. Will get on it in the morning....The gun looks very nice.
|
I was the first in line...its on the way to ohio...(-: Thanks Greg,,I owe you one!
|
My pleasure Kenny, happy to have helped out! Now you can return the favor by keeping an eye open for a nice Parker D-grade toplever hammergun for me!
|
|
Several short barrel 12-ga. with DT do come availible.....They are less desirable in that lenth with open choke. If it was a two barrel set 26" and 28" it would be gone! That gun give me sticker shock even with the BTF....SXS ohio...(-:

It seems the seller is a bit confused in how it's choked.
|
The thing I don't like about the Sporting Clays gun is the barrels are swelled or fluted (whatever the proper term is) at the muzzle to accommodate the choke tubes. Its a personal thing, but when I sight down the rib and see the blunderbuss look of the barrels I find it most unpleasant. Its too bad they couldn't have put thin wall tubes in those things.
|
Dave, I agree 200% with that statement.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls...
STOP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING !! ...as it is time to play... REPRO TRIVIA: THE 12-GA. VERSION for ages 12 and up It has been reported that there were a total of 2,137 12-ga. DHE Repros built. Of these, 1,662 were the regular run of DHE's, 350 were Steel Shot Specials and the remaining 125 were Sporting Clays Classics. The pic below is of a 12-ga. DHE Repro, can you tell by looking at this attached pic if this gun is: A. An everyday run-of-the-mill DHE Repro B. A Steel Shot Special C. A Sporting Clays Classic Please tell us what model of DHE Repro you believe this gun to be and how you arrived at your answer. Those answering correctly will receive an atta-boy and get their name thrown in a drum for our GRAND PRIZE DRAWING, those answering incorrectly will be boo-ed. |
Dave/Dean - If you are seeing the "Blunderbuss" when shooting, you're focusing on the wrong thing. I agree that barrel ends like a K80 look "strange", when in the gun rack, but you never see them when shooting.
|
Sorry... it's just me and no offense intended to anybody but to me those swollen muzzles are just an abberation and I won't own one.

It sounds nuts but that's why I sold mine. It just bugged me. That said the 12 I replaced it with is marvelous. It had a big scratch in the finish so I stripped it (that may bend some noses) and now I like it even better with the oil finish. More heresy - I like the single trigger!

Rod....Thats a dandee of a hunk of wood on your gun! That wood blank could cost 2K....The reproductions are great values, I love my repro's That 12ga PG-Dt SF with 28 inchers thats on the way from Westly Richards will be here tuesday....Hope the wood is half as good as yours...(-: It looked pretty good in the pictures. Found this 12 gauge Sporting Clays Repro this morning. Has pad installed though. http://www.gunsamerica.com/971685624...ge_125_mad.htm Bill |
If a collector or shooter wants to have a factory SC repro the upset muzzles are how it was engineered. The system is funktional and not ugly. When shooting the muzzles are not seen anyway. Yes brily thin walls may have been a better system cosmeticly? After the fact we must except the repro's the way they are and be happy they exist! If the bulg bugs some folks (purists) thats O.K., you can collect one or all of the fixed choke combo's they offered or just buy a original Parker. I would love to have a SC model with PG-Dt-BTF to go with my fixed choke guns I now own.... (-: Thanks all SXS ohio...

I tried to call them this morning early on the gun and had to leave a message. Emailed later in the day and they told me it was sold already.
|
I perchased this gun early this morning....no makers case, used, and pad added. 4044.00 shiped. I hope I like it??? would prefer original SBP...thanks all SXS ohio...

Dang Kenny, I called early this morning and got an answering machine. Left a message for them to call me and they never did. Well I'm glad you got the gun, shoot it well.

I owned NSFL 28-4 for awhile. It was a really nice 28ga two barrel set, but it had the 14 3/4" LOP and I couldn't shoot it worth a darn, so it moved on to a new owner. Now I wish I had it back! These are some of the one-off Repro's that might make them a little more collectable in the future. Here's link for some insight on the NSFL: https://www.trophyroombooks.com/amwell_about.htm |
Ken,
I have a 12 G case if you do not. Bob Jurewicz |
Kenny's new gun has Parker triggers according to the ad. I wonder if you can tell from the outside?
|
I did not perchase the SCC...due to the trigger swap, but pad, and no maker case....to mutch customizing for the price....The seller is out of town for a while and will most likely relist after he returns...Keep your eyes open for it if you have intrest...thanks all SXS ohio...(-:
