I met you at Baltimore 5 or 6 years ago and everytime you post something it just reinforces my original opinion

Same thing happens to me every year Randy.

Ditto for me and that is sad.
Fortunately for me as a Director of the PGF I get to pass out and collect name badges and I get to know faces.

Craig, sorry I gave you a bad impression at a Baltimore show, but I am a very positive member of the PGCA, continue to offer voluminous free information on our guns, but "don't suffer fools" and I stand by my opinion of the negative post you offered about name tags. Sorry, buddy, we will meet again and straighten out our differences.

No need to be sorry I am 100% sure you were being your usual self . Good bad or otherwise depending on how one takes it or whom one may be .

I might want to get this moving along.

George, I found the 2 images we spoke about - send me your e-mail and I'll send you good digital copies. Send to me at kbm7013@gmail.com, NOT on this BBS. Thanks, K.

The one thing that I have noticed and missed at the Southern, is the get togethers after the Challenge on Saturday, where we would have beer and wine and different snacks (cheese and crackers, shrimp, fruit etc) for both the LC members and the Parker guys. It was a great way to meet and greet (kind of like the Hospitality suite get together). Why has this get together disappeared ?

These type of affairs were a great way to meet people and also hash out problems. I think it's been four or five years since we had one (much longer for the hospitality suite get togethes) It's a small thing but again it was a positive. It's too bad that's it's disappeared

Eric
My thoughts:
1) The HOF dinner is right after shooting on Saturday and people including Mills Morrison have to get cleaned and dressed up to get to it. We moved the HOF dinner from Carey to Sanford to make it easier for shooters to attend the dinner. The venue change led to an early sellout of the HOF. We will hold the HOF dinner again in Sanford next year.
2) It's also not a great idea to drink a bunch and drive back to the hotel. I do DWI cases for a living and don't recommend it especially for out-of-state drivers.
3) The folks who stay in Sanford at the Hampton tend to party in the first floor room. Many a bottle is emptied there. This year we sent back the extra appetizers from the HOF dinner for the Hampton for the after hours party. We will do that again next year.
4) I think the LC shooters have something that evening but I could be wrong.
Your point is well taken.

Mills Morrison 05-03-2018 03:23 PM

I miss seeing a lot of people too. Nothing Parker related went on Friday night and perhaps we can do something then next year.

Eric Eis 05-03-2018 04:32 PM

George, I understand, but you thought name tags were a good idea, years ago at the annual meetings we use to have a hospitality suite every evening and that carried over to the meet and greet at the Southern, and people got to sit down and meet each other and talk (ask Allen S. about some of the things we talked about and smoothed out differences we had ! ), and now we have none of that, to me that's sad. Time change I guess.

George M. Purtill 05-03-2018 04:43 PM

I agree with you Eric. And I am working on new permanent name tags.
BY the way we tried to do the HOF dinner on Friday but all sizable venues nearby were taken.

So in order to meet other like minded individuals a person should pack a suit and tie and go to the HOF dinner?

If we have a hospitality tent and have some beer and wine along with cheese and crackers were not responsible enough to drive back to the motel?

Isn't the HOF dinner for PGCA members? I'm sure the dinner is more than an annual membership.

Brian Dudley 05-04-2018 04:25 PM

I could think of another way to meet like minded individuals, but some would not like it.

John Davis 05-04-2018 04:49 PM

If you were of a mind to attend the HOF banquet, you would most certainly meet a group of like minded folks. And you might just have some fun in the process.

I met a lot of like minded people, I also have a name tag. Seeing as I'm not a PGCA member the HOF dinner is a moot point BUT if I were a member I wouldn't pack a suit and tie to go eat dinner like minded people or not:nono:

Jean Swanson 05-07-2018 08:03 PM

Rich

We have talked about your resignation to the PGCA, we are volunteers and we all make mistakes and have differences in the way we see things. You could be a valued asset to the organization---send in your $40.00 and become an active member---enough is enough. Your friend Eric and I had a heart to heart one night and resolved the differences, and I thing it was all in the betterment of the PGCA.

Allan

John Davis 05-08-2018 07:40 AM

Just like the Annual Meeting, you don't have to be a member of the PGCA to attend the HOF banquet. You just have to buy a ticket. And taking a bath and strapping on a tie once or twice a year doesn't seem so bad. Membership in the PGCA is of course a personal decision, but for anyone who owns a Parker or even thinks they want to own a Parker it's the best $40.00 you'll ever spend. :)

Rich Anderson 05-08-2018 09:02 AM

John I gave up the suit and tie when I retired and I take a shower every day:rotf::rotf:
