I'll be the bouncer checking the ID's Edgar...

Sounds like a great time. Good to hear you will be going. The last time we spoke you didn't seem to confident you'll be heading down. I'll be arriving on Thursday. See you there.

edgarspencer 05-25-2017 08:28 PM

Frank, I can't think a better guy to be minding the door!

Chuck Bishop 05-25-2017 08:55 PM

I'll have a full rack, a baked potato, cole slaw, and a case of Heineken. Don't worry, I'll bring a chair. P.S. Margaret will have the same. Thank you!

Harold Lee Pickens 05-25-2017 09:11 PM

Edgar, since I plan on getting in Wed night, I will reserve your traditional camping spot. I will park my Gator /trailer there.

Dean Romig 05-26-2017 07:46 AM

Larry & Deb and Kathy & I will take up daytime residence in the Parker Corner too.
Looking forward to spending time there with everybody.

Are you two speaking?

Dean Romig 05-26-2017 08:03 AM

We HAVE to speak... We're stuck here alone in a cottage on the shore of a lake in Maine in the pouring down rain. Grace is very playful and gives us something to focus on other than the weather... and'grace' is the mood that prevails. :bigbye:

Oh... You mean Larry and I ? :rotf:

Yes, of course we're speaking!

.

Chuck Bishop 05-26-2017 08:25 AM

Margaret says White Zinfandel would be acceptable. So far, the 10 day weather forecast for Friendsville is looking OK. Partly cloudy to partly sunny with a 20% chance of rain.

Should be a lot of fun, I'll need to remember to bring my thick skin cause the BS will be flying:whistle:

I hope she won't mind, but she'll have to drink it out off the bottle

Frankie, Keep an eye on that Bishop guy. He already sounds like trouble.

Pete Lester 05-29-2017 06:20 AM

I have been watching the weather for Friendsville PA for later this week, of course the forecast keeps changing and will change again, right now it looks like boots and raincoats will be needed on Friday. Fingers crossed the weatherman is wrong.

Harold Lee Pickens 05-30-2017 01:48 PM

Hey Dean or Dave, where is the Parker display to be set up-- are we in the main tent at Ernies, or are we at the top of the lane where they do the BoWhoop shoot near the parking lot??

edgarspencer 05-30-2017 02:00 PM

Harold, It's always been in the main tent, at the far end on the right. Not to say things haven't changed, but I can't think why they would.

Dean Romig 05-30-2017 02:02 PM

Check with Ernie when you get there. It should be in the big tent in the next to last or second to last space at the far end on the right.

Have you received the packages from Dave and I?

.

Harold Lee Pickens 05-30-2017 02:27 PM

Thanks guys, that's what I thought and yes, I did get the packages from youa nd Dave and they are already in my truck.

It sounds like we're in for a really good time!

I would ask one really BIG favor...

Please don't toss bones or any kind of garbage in the edge of the woods or in the field. They attract varmints, but more importantly, we like to let our dogs run loose in the field and in the edges there. Pork bones and chicken bones will splinter badly and can cause serious choking issues and perforated bowels in dogs. So please put these kinds of refuse in proper containers and pack them out.

Thanks very much guys!

Harold Lee Pickens 05-30-2017 06:57 PM

, Dean, thanks for that!

Looking good for Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Frank Srebro 05-31-2017 07:34 AM

I live about 30 miles from Hidden Hollow. Weather app this morning shows: full sun Thursday, showers Friday, mixed sun and clouds on Saturday.

That is a very good point Dean and I certainly hope you don't think we're a bunch of hillbillys. Would you bring some sort of trash receptacle when you come to help set up.

Dean Romig 05-31-2017 12:27 PM

I'll get there around 11 or noon on Friday. I'll bring a HD trash bag with me......

Until then, you'll have to improvise. I would suggest the door pockets of your various vehicles....:D

edgarspencer 05-31-2017 12:43 PM

We've got plenty of light weight ones, but a nice big heavy one that can go down to the dumpster that night would be nice.

Rick Losey 05-31-2017 12:56 PM

Doesn't Harold have a cap on his truck

I mean. - Just for temporary storage

There's Harold and Edgar, having hors d'oeuvres under the canopy.

I shot the small bore course this afternoon and really enjoyed all the presentations.

With such a classy group you know

Does anyone know who the two guys were, who were camping in that tent in the distance, by the white SUV? They left garbage all over their campsite when they left.

Dean Romig 06-04-2017 08:54 AM

I don't know who they were.

I had a great time again this year but it seemed to me attendance was noticeably lower. I am sure Ernie has some firm numbers and it would be good to know what is going on. I spoke with two vendors who said they thought attendance had been dropping since the shoot went to a Thurs- Sat schedule. Your thoughts and observations?

Harold his gator and Edgar's tracks in the field. On Thursday it was like driving and walking on a wet sponge.

Dean Romig 06-06-2017 04:22 PM

The rest of the field was a minefield of soft, deep wet spots and by Saturday evening held all the scars of traffic travelling in every direction across it.

Unfortunately Ernie leases that field for his shooting events and is probably responsible for rolling it flat again.
