Final word on the subject.... for the record, the SAA is micro-chipped and reported to the authorities to be in a gun unfriendly state. Touche. Checkmate. Finis! |
I have nothing to report! :crying::crying:

I guess if we were talking about ones we told our better half about, my total is correct, but for some reason I overlooked a few albeit not Parkers that somehow got into my gun room, now let me see a Shilo Sharps 34", a 150 anniversary Winchester "Yellow Boy", a Gettysburg tribute Henry, and I forgot about the few guns I sold at Julias, so I have confessed my addiction to the world! Gary
|
Jeff K I heard rumors of a very nice 16ga you picked up this year, come on it's time to share:rotf:
Gary my rifle collection expanded greatly this year. I did forget about a wonderful Francotte 20 that followed my home from Hausmanns. |
i'm just a lite-weight compared to most of you gents. I did pick up a 12 ga. V.H. in good mechanical condition but with un-original wood. Turned out to be a good shooter. Got it from my ex-wife of all people at a great price.
|
I have never bought a Parker from my ex, but I would buy her #700 coffee grinder if she decided to get rid of it.

The ghe 32" vent rib 16 is just a rumor as is the che 32" 12 with rondel engraving! |

Well,I got the 16ga CHE home.28" Bernard barrels, ball grip, double triggers, ejectors,O frame. It weighs 6-0 exactly. As I was leaving, they handed me a box saying this goes with the gun.A 20ga set of Atlas barrels, letters from Remington saying how unsafe damascus was,and a letter signed by Larry DelGreco refering the owner to Atlas.A nice add on.I am going to try to add photos if I can figure out how.
|
Added the following:
1) 1934 VHE 12 ga skeet gun 2) 1900 VH 20 ga with 30" M/F barrels 3) Beretta 682 Gold with Greystone finish, 2 barrel set (32" 12 ga and 30" 20 ga) 4) 1926 Purdey 12 ga with 27" barrels, owned by former Sheriff of Suffolk County, NY |

1) M44 Mosin Nagant (unissued, 1955 Polish made) 2) M16 Berthier Carbine (1919 MAC) 3) M38 Carcano 7.35 (1939 Terni) 4) M95 Dutch Carbine (1917 Hembrug) 5) M95 Steyr Carbine 8x50R (1915 FGGY) 6) Gewehr 88/05 Rifle (1891 Spandau) 7) Lefever H Grade 12 gauge (1902ish) 8) Purdey single barrel 16 gauge (1903) 9) Iver Johnson Champion 16 gauge (1910-1920) :duck: |
Jeff it's not a good practice to try to fool us so close to the holidays:nono: Santa will put your name on the naughty list....I know this as mine is a permanent fixture there:rotf:

I did end up with a 12 gauge GHE vent rib Damascus gun. Not a 16, but a nice gun anyhow. The big acquisition is a high condition Whitworth barrelled Purdey hammer pigeon gun. It is a full house round action pigeon gun with 1 1/4 ounce proof, 2 3/4" chambers, side clips, third fastener, and uncut original wood. It is a bar in iron gun, one of the last hammer guns before the present reintroduction. Not a Parker, but a nice find.

1. Parker fish tail Hammer in 10 Ga.
2. Remington 12 Ga. Hammer 3. Colt 10 Ga. Hammer 4. W. Richards Jones Lever 10 Ga. Hammer 5. Crescent 10 Ga. Hammer 6. German 20 Ga. Hammer 7. H&R 410 Hammer 8. Custom Hunting Knife with( Daniel Boone would be proud of this Knife) signed Fezz Parker on the sheath. 9. EE Lefever 12 Ga. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Thomas |
Well I did end up with a PH 20ga 1 1/2 frame twist barrel, not sure if I want to restore (it's all ready been played with) or not, it does swing nice... But the major setbacks in the bank account came from a few from across the pond, a pair of 28 gauges, and a 16. They put a serious (and I mean serious) dent into my gun spending for a while..............
|
I only bought one Parker this year, MY FIRST!! It is a DHe with a straight stock and damascus barrels. I haven't used it as it went off to Brad Bachelder to have the ejectors fixed, then off to my Remington man, Terry Deem to have the barrels worked on. Still has to make it to Chris Dawe for stock work. Maybe by fall 2017 I might have the opportunity to fire my first shot from it.

Wayne Owens' C Grade
Wayne, Mr. Wheal was a Parker company shooter. This is the third C grade that has surfaced with his name on it. Congratulations.
|
Well, a few
- my first D, which I shared earlier this year with a post and photos - and a 16ga VH w/ 30" F&F barrels needing some stock attention, But to Ed's snowblower, I did get my wife a new rototiller for our 40th anniversary, really:whistle::whistle: |

The C Bernard 16 ga shown previously in this thread is one of three known existent and is the only known 0 frame one. It is a nice and significant gun.
Several 20 gauge Bernards were made and one 28 gauge but none are presently known. The 28ga is a 30 incher. I've been looking for many years. Who knows, there may be a few of these tucked away in private collections where owners let no one know, or back in closets where their significance is unknown. One of the few known other small bore Bernards: |

This is the 20 ga. DHE I traded my 30" 2 frame CH for. It has clearly seen a lot of use, as evidenced by the minimal remaining checkering on the buttstock, and perhaps less than 50% finish on the barrels, but what I saw when presented with the possible trade, was one of the most beautiful pieces of wood on an early DHE.
When I can clear my bench of some case work, I'll get it apart and send the wood up to Mr. Globe Trotting Dawe. |
Nice... I`m a big fan of beautiful wood.

That gun was 'well-loved' and I'll stick my neck out to say I think it will be well-loved once again!!

Well, I started my Parker collection this year and I must say that I am hooked.
My 1st was an NH 10 gauge from 1890 with 32" twist barrels. My 2nd was a DH 12 gauge from 1895 with factory 32" Vulcan barrels. My 3rd was a VH 12 gauge from 1905 with 28" cut barrels. |

It's a 2. DH 81588 |
My Parker acquisition this year was a VH, 16Ga, frame #1, 30" barrels, all original to the Parker letter I received. Barrels had little blueing at spots, and a couple of dents, the plastic butt-plate was broken and missing a piece. I sent the gun to Brad Bachelder for a clean & strip, dent removal and barrel re-blueing, butt-plate replacement with an original - period correct (with widow's peak), and refreshment of the checkering. The color case is all original. I am very happy with the results. BillK

30" 1 frame 16 gauge guns are wonderful.
|
beautiful parker Bill!! and a great gauge. i have a 16 ga. trojan and I love the way it carrys and swings.
|
Nick,I have a Parker Trojan in 16 ga. and also love the way swings on dove's. J.J.

How soon we forget. One other Parker acquisition is a wonderful little Del Grego redone VH .410 restocked in nice fancy wood, beavertail forend hard butt. It looks like an early one judging by the colors. I believe it may be one done for our friend Shelly G. and was displayed at the first PGCA meeting in Nashville, many years ago. At that show, it was offered for a very negotiable $6995. I own Shelly's SAA trap gun and I just couldn't resist another gun owned by my old friend. I hope my inquiry to Babe DelGrego will prove me right.
