Bill Schwarz, gunsmith: 267 Brushy Top Road, Ellijay, GA 30540

He has repaired and restored many Parkers for myself
And Asa Kelley. Somehow he is always able to come up with or make many had to find Parker
Parts. He is truly a craftsman and gunsmith.

I saw this posted in another thread and decided to add it to this list. If you have a recommendation please feel free to continue to develop this list. People in all areas of the country need to find competent people to work on their fine Parkers.

This is a reply from a request "Need a good gunsmith near Seattle WA"
Try The Stock Doctor, Dennis Earl Smith in Oregon.
and here is a link to them: http://www.thestockdr.com/

Another reply to the previous request was a recommendation to Mark Larson in Tacoma Wa.

Noted posts about gunsmiths in WA state for SxS. I recently obtained a stock from Brian Dudley and had Brubaker Arms Manufacturing fit the stock to a 12ga, GH. He is located at 15592 Cottonwood Canyon Rd., Yakima, WA 98909, (912) 659-4505. His stock work is outstanding, a friend from Ellensburg, WA has had him do 2 or 3 English "Best Guns" and is also happy with his work.

I have used several of the gents listed on this blog, all have done great work for me! They are very busy with usually a back log of work, The backlog does not take away from the quality of the work! I had a special gun that I wanted to have put together, I knew that most could not work the project I had in mind into their busy schedules, Chris Dawe said he would take the project on, He and others under his direction worked on this project for two years, There were a lot of hurdles Chris took the time to make my dream come true, and for that I thank him, I can not get a photo to load, maybe Edgar has one he can show with the beautiful case he made for it Gary

That's a gun not easy to forget!

Bill Murphy 07-11-2018 06:56 PM

Why has no one mentioned the fellow who makes all kinds of Parker parts? He is from Connecticut, I think. Is there a problem?

Dean Romig 07-11-2018 06:59 PM

Is that Joe Breda?

.

Brian Dudley 07-11-2018 07:00 PM

Joe is in CA/TX. I am not sure who Bill is speaking of. ???

edgarspencer 07-11-2018 07:01 PM

Abe Chaber?

Bachelders +1, Dan Cullity +1

Dean Romig 07-11-2018 09:43 PM

+1 for Dan Cullity!

The man is a genius with firearms of all kinds. When he was younger he lived in CT and learned to engrave guns early on. When he was still in high school he would stop by the Colt plant and take some guns home to engrave for them. His engraved guns are highly sought after. His shop is now in East Sandwich, MA.

Bill Murphy 07-12-2018 12:03 PM

The female engraver's ex boyfriend. Noelle F. is the engraver.

Dean Romig 07-12-2018 12:25 PM

OK I remember him..... Richard or Rick something?

.

Dave Suponski 07-12-2018 01:23 PM

Your talking about Lou Rotelli. I wouldn’t use him

Dean Romig 07-12-2018 03:55 PM

That's the guy Dave..... don't know why I couldn't bring his name up... :banghead:

Dave Suponski 07-12-2018 04:04 PM

Dean Romig 07-12-2018 04:10 PM

Might help if you specified the type of work Justin, and the make of the firearm. Just a thought. :)

It is a 1927 parker VH

I have an issue that when its very cold out the left barrel doesn't strike the primer hard enough to fire. When it is warm i don't have the issue. I just would like it cleaned on the internals. Possibly the engraving touched up. Make sure the barrel wall is in spec. Possibly case hardened if needed. The only thing I am dead set on is it functioning 100%.

Randy G Roberts 03-26-2019 07:54 AM

This may not be as "in the area" as you would like but Gunter Pfrommer is probably 2.5 to 3 hours drive time depending and the mechanics issues he could easily address. He would not do the colors in house if you decide to go that route. Maybe someone will know of something closer for you. You can google Pfrommer Gunworks and find him. Good Luck !

Eric Eis 03-26-2019 08:17 AM

Maybe call Bill Schwarz 760-276-7668 I think he's in your area and is a good smith on doubles

David Yeatts 03-27-2019 01:06 AM

I have used Gunter for years and as yet have not been disappointed. Just picked up my 1879 for him, it was in for lock repairs.

Rick McKenzie 03-28-2019 12:59 PM

Kirk Merrington of Kerrville, TX
Strip and clean, inspect and evaluate, rejoint action, raise dents in barrels, open one choke, brown the barrels. I had this done many years ago and it was done with quality at a fair price. Top notch work.

1903 12ga GH with Damascus barrels.

John Black 10-24-2019 08:03 AM

Phone number please?

Does anyone have a phone number for Bill Schwarz?

Ed Norman 10-24-2019 08:52 AM

There is a gunsmith near me in northern lower michigan (west side of state) whose name is Del Whitman 231-632-0845 He works out of his home, I took a gun there for him to inspect. He told me he does just about anything and side by sides is his specialty. The guys I have talked to about him talk highly of him.

John Black 10-24-2019 10:04 AM

Thanks, I'll contact him.

Gunsmiths I have Used

John,
I too have dealt with Bill Schwarz on numerous occasions and have always been satisfied. His contact number is 706-276-7668. Call him.

John Davis 10-24-2019 12:31 PM

Bill has done a lot of work for me and is great to deal with.

John Black 10-24-2019 01:17 PM

Thanks guys. I just got off the phone with Bill. I will be taking the gun to him in the near future.

Chris Robenalt 10-25-2019 12:10 AM

I'd recommend Chris Dawe for any stock work. Although he's done no wood for me, he has for my friend Phil Carr.
I've seen Chris' full wood replacements, checkering, and repairs, and they are second to none. I can also say he is a Master in metal work! I set standards and expectations of my own work to those of his. I hope someday to be as good as Chris. I met and became friends with Chris, through Phil Carr a few years ago when he brought him to Arizona to shoot birds with us. I will say Chris is a true gentleman and a man of his word. He stands behind his work. Chris is a genius and true Master of the trade, and I am only so fortunate and grateful to know him! A+++++
