How about a chicken ring??

Rich Anderson 03-18-2016 02:11 PM

Nope no deal. If you have/had ever shot a pigeon ring you'd understand. Ernie saw one at the U.P. shoot and has tried (and failed I guess as it hasn't ever worked) to duplicate one for his shoot. Come shoot at Medford, WI over fathers day weekend and experience one. You'd be impressed.

Mike Koneski 03-20-2016 04:34 PM

Shot the real deal many times.

Rich Anderson 03-20-2016 06:18 PM

That is on my list of things to do.

Mike Koneski 03-30-2016 10:39 AM

Dave Suponski 03-30-2016 01:48 PM

Steve Cambria 03-30-2016 02:31 PM

George,
Last year we paid $109.00 per night. I'm not sure what the others in the area charge.

Mike Koneski 04-01-2016 03:34 PM

George, for the Comfort Inn, a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds is $109/night. A non-smoking 2 queen SUITE is $119/night. Rooms are blocked from Thursday through Monday. If anyone arrives early (Wednesday), just let them know and the discount rate will be extended to you.

Mike Koneski 04-01-2016 03:35 PM

Susan should be seeing the Hampton Inn manager today (4/1) and finalizing the block of rooms there. Info TBA.

George M. Purtill 04-01-2016 04:09 PM

I booked at the Hampton and it's $119 per night also.

Mike Koneski 04-01-2016 04:41 PM

The Hampton is right next to Remington's Restaurant. Very, very good food. Jack is the chef and co-owner and is a member here at RMSC. We recommend dining there. Make sure you ask him for the Polish Surf & Turf. Carp and woodchuck!!! I also recommend the 'possum flatbread appetizer. Tell him Mike sent you. :rotf:

Does the Queen come with the room?

Mike Koneski 04-14-2016 10:18 AM

No, must bring your own queen. I'm sure you can find some in Boston, they wear Red Sox hats. :rotf:

George, can't you use Ritz crackers for targets??

John Dallas 04-14-2016 04:11 PM

Years ago, Orvis sold a Ritz Cracker thrower. I reverse engineered the thing, and tried out my copy. Thrower worked well, but we found that very often the cracker was hit (sometimes 2-3 pellet holes in the cracker), but they didn't break. I suppose we could have salvaged the unbroken ones and used them for hors d'oeurves, but....

Steve Cambria 04-14-2016 04:33 PM

Actually, $116 for AAA members, 75 ft. to the side door of Remington's and a spacious parking lot for tour buses.:whistle::whistle:

Mike Koneski 06-30-2016 02:47 PM

A shout out regarding our September event!! Vendors are signing up and we should have some very nice double guns for sale in the pavilion!! Custom builders and gunsmiths will be here as will the "Big 4" Collector Associations!! The trophies are all ordered too and every event will have some nice BLING to go to the winners. Ma Greenley is slated to once again provide food and eye candy. :D We advise you to make sure you reserve your room(s) in Tunkhannock to be sure you have the best deals in the area. We'll post more info as we move closer to the event. Hard to believe we're less than 3 months away!!

Mike Koneski 07-03-2016 02:53 PM

Here's the shoot flier for those that need to plan your mode of attack!!! Note that some event dates and amount of targets have changed. The prices of a few events will be lowered accordingly.

This great event will feature a Collectors Group Reception that will take place immediatly after the Fox/Parker Challenge and the Manufacturer Cup Shootoff. Time will be 5:00/5:30 on Saturday. The event will be catered by the wonderful Bar-B-Q outfit that will be serving us all weekend! Last years food was fabulous and the scenery wasn't bad either.....

Please make note that those PGCA members that wish to attend must let Mike know of your intentions by Weds. Sept 21 2016. The cost for PGCA members will be $15 a head. You may pay for this at the same time you pay for the events you are shooting.

Don't miss this fun get together.......:bigbye:

I would think the Team Parker hats should say "Parker-Fox Challenge"... Wha' happened?

.

Frank Srebro 07-29-2016 07:39 AM

Fox team is something like 4-0 right now. First things first. :)

Maybe some of the hot shot southern shooters will show up this year? The excuses have been increasingly creative, making for plenty of hilarity while at dinner at Dover Furnace, Hausmann's and the Rock.

George M. Purtill 07-29-2016 09:44 AM

Dean- Fox Team has been kicking our butts so long that we are lucky to have hats made that even mention Parker. Although I don't understand how those Fox shooters are able to convince their probation officers to let them shoot guns. They must have good lawyers.
Frank- I too have concerns about the invisible force field that exists on the Mason-Dixon line.

Dean Romig 07-29-2016 10:30 AM

I wonder if Mal can break away from his responsibilities in Fairfield that close to October to come to PA and shoot a Parker?

I wonder if the Fall Southern being so close has anything to do with their resistance to venturing across the "line".

.

Frank Srebro 07-29-2016 02:37 PM

No more resistance than when Northern shooters venture across the M-D line to the Spring Southern even though Hausmann's is much closer and just a few weeks later.

The whole deal is to be found guilty of a crime not punishable by 365 days or more in prison. 364 and we're good to go!!! :bigbye:

Dean Romig 07-29-2016 04:23 PM

What a relief!!! And I always thought it was the mad pollock who had them made. Thank the Lord it wasn't him...

See?. ...Therein lies the rub. Is that PA law or Fed?

NO! Toolman does not have the damn hats made up. The PGCA does

But at who's direction?

When Team Parker takes the cup will the wording on the hats change to put Parker first?
