Rich Anderson 01-19-2015 02:02 PM

My battery will include several hammer guns which I'll gladly lend to our brethren Fox shooters.

FRANK HALSEY 01-20-2015 03:50 PM

I will be there on Thursday. This sounds like fun. Thanks, Frank

Jim Signore 01-20-2015 07:00 PM

I made my hotel reservation today, which include Thursday night, so count me in. I will bring an armful of guns to shoot representing every American manufacturer except Parker I'm afraid. I have a couple but both of them need some serious attention and I'm not sure with everything I have on my plate between now and then I will be able to bring one of them up to a usable state, but I'll try. But regardless I will be there. My first time at one of these events so I look forward to meeting and shooting with you guys. See you in April. Jim

William Davis 01-20-2015 08:41 PM

Count Bill Davis and Haley Pearsall in for Thursday, We will have plenty of Parkers between us, Hammer and Hammerless

William

Rich Anderson 01-21-2015 04:54 PM

Jim glad to have you and don't worry about the non Parker issue...it won't cost you much:whistle:
I'm thinking of bringing just hammer guns so there will be an extra...or three for use.

David Dwyer 01-22-2015 07:54 AM

Jim
Welcome and looking forward to shooting with you. There will be plenty of "extra" Parkers around if you want to shoot one. This a great group of shooters!
David
I moved to SC from Atlanta 24 years ago.

Jim Signore 01-23-2015 09:38 AM

LeFever, Fox, LC Smith and Remington, so I have a lot of bases covered. Hopefully my punishment for not shooting a Parker won't be buying the beer for you guys, that could get costly fast. My 16 Trojan needs some glass work in the butt, and my 12 Trojan needs a butt, not sure I will be able to make one good, but I'll see what I can do. Look forward to shooting with you guys. Jim

Mike.Smith 03-25-2015 05:12 PM

I'm pushing this up to the top again since we are now only a month away from the Southern. If you're making your plans for the Southern, please consider coming down a day early to join us for this event on Thursday. We have 20 people committed so far, and would love to see more of you there!

Thanks,

Mike

Rich Anderson 03-25-2015 08:00 PM

I'm loading shells now, after all I'd hate to run out:rotf:

You bet!! I'll be there and David DeFernelmont will be shooting too.

Buddy Marson 03-26-2015 07:40 AM

I'll be arriving at Drake's Wednesday around noon. I hope to practice a little so I don't embarrass myself on Thursday.
Buddy

Jim don't worry, between Rich and me I think we will be able to find a Parker for you to shoot....:) Looking forward to this shoot and warmer weather.....:rotf:

David Dwyer 03-26-2015 09:05 AM

I will probably arrive either Tue mid day to shoot with Fjelline and Dan Christensen or Tue evening.
This is developing into a great weekend

More like a "Week" :rotf::)

Harold Lee Pickens 03-26-2015 11:20 AM

Buddy, dont worry about that. The great thing is that although we all want to break every bird, it just ain't going to happen. This group is more interested in having a good time, than being a competition. Heck, most of the time we dont even keep a score card--we know who is shooting good, and who is having a bad day. We are not above jeering someone who blows an easy shot ,however. One guy(gal) may be shooting a 28 ga and the next shooter a 10.
I will be leaving Wed at noon and will arrive around Wed eve at the hotel. See you all Thurs.

Mike.Smith 03-26-2015 11:23 AM

Did we lose the ability to edit a post? I was going to update my original post to add a name, but don't see the link to do that anymore? Anyway, we have another shooter signed up for this event, so here is the current list.

Update 3/26/15: Great responses to this guys, glad so many are planning to come. Keep em coming!

Mike Smith
Mark Ouellette
Daryl Carona
Rich Anderson
Eric Eis
David Dwyer
Craig Larter +3
Mike Koneski
Harold Pickens
Carvel Whaley
Buddy Marson
Devan Brown
Jim Signore
Frank Halsey
Haley Pearsall
Bill Davis
David DeFernelmont

If you're coming, plan to stay all day, as I think we may have Lunch AND Dinner options now from Dan, so we can play all day and into the evening! :)

Who else is coming?

Mike

Harold Lee Pickens 03-26-2015 11:37 AM

Thanks Mike for all the effort you are making.

David Dwyer 03-26-2015 02:15 PM

Mike
Are we still having the hammer gun competition Friday morning?
David

Rich Anderson 03-26-2015 03:47 PM

I can't decide what guns to bring:eek: I have it narrowed down to about 8....ok it's 9 really but I need to reduce that somewhat......I think:rolleyes: Hammer gun, hammerless, small bore jeesh decisions, decisions:bigbye: At least I don't have to bring a 10ga:rotf::rotf:

Craig Larter 03-26-2015 03:53 PM

Rich I have been having the same problem, what guns to bring. I figure I will shoot at least three times so Parker BHE, Fox XE and Elsie Grade 3 10.

Daryl Corona 03-26-2015 03:59 PM

[QUOTE=Harold Lee Pickens;163593] One guy(gal) may be shooting a 28 ga and the next shooter a 10.

Now there's a challenge. How about a squad of tens and another squad for the equally capable 28. , 100 rounds straight? Best team score wins. Simple.

Mike.Smith 03-26-2015 04:02 PM

That's the beauty of this shoot, we can do whatever we want. I'm up for shooting one of my Hammer Guns in the morning if we have a sub-group that wants to do that. If anyone wants to shoot a Hammer Gun and doesn't have one, I'll be bringing several. I've hesitated to put too much structure around this shoot other than to just get a bunch of people together. I know most of us shooting at Drake Landing have had a good time without even keeping score. It doesn't have to happen Thursday, but sometime over the weekend I'd like to see another round of all true pairs. Now that was fun!

At least I don't have Craig and Rich's problem. Living here, I'll have ALL of my guns available to shoot. Then again, that doesn't change the fact that I still have to decide which one. :banghead:

Mike

Rich Anderson 03-26-2015 04:11 PM

Mike how are you shooting that 32 inch 16ga?
I KNOW I'll have Gunner's Gun, the 16ga lifter, O grade 32inch 16ga Hammer gun, Boss 20ga hammer gun, Grade 3 12ga Hammer gun, GHE 16 Damascus skeet gun, Holly Wood gun, BHE Live bird gun and a couple more that will be up for adoption....I have had rifle mania lately:whistle:

Harold Lee Pickens 03-26-2015 07:45 PM

Mike, that round of true pairs was a lot of fun. Unlike Rich, I'll probably be driving down by myself, so I'll just throw them all in the truck and decide what to shoot after I get there.

David Dwyer 03-27-2015 07:03 AM

Mike
All of the above! We have enough people to have regular course, true pairs, hammer gun , sub gage. groups shooting simultaneously. Drakes three courses, five stand plus two regular, give us a lot of options and I want to shoot them all! I was planning on shooting Deep River Friday -Sunday but am now just going over there to watch the Parker-Smith Challenge and shoot the hammer gun event Sunday AM
David

Eric Eis 03-27-2015 10:06 AM

The great thing is we can shoot just for the fun of it (that would be me) or if others want to shoot for score they can. The only thing we need to keep is "This is a Fun shoot" ! You want a serious, score card kept, tricked out vintage shotguns go to Deep River to shoot....This shoot is only for fun let's not forget that.......

Bruce Day 03-27-2015 10:55 AM

See you at Deep River. I'll be shooting my old beater bird guns.

I also go to the Foundation dinner to support old friends. Maybe see some of you there.

Mike Franzen 03-27-2015 11:16 AM

Julia and I'll be getting there late Thursday afternoon. We could shoot if there is going to be anything going on Friday or Saturday.

It would be great to see you on Thursday to shoot some clays at Drakes, I know you would enjoy it Bruce.

Atta boy David...Welcome to the dark side :)

Mike.Smith 03-27-2015 04:33 PM

Rich, I've only had a chance to shoot the 32" 16ga once, but I hope to rectify that this weekend. I might even shoot the 28" 16 too. :) Travel has been killing my weekends lately.

David Dwyer 04-05-2015 10:08 AM

C O B
I hope you are still planning on organizing a hammer gun competition for Friday AM? I remember you asking Mike for his handicap system. I will have several loaner Parker hammer guns for use if anyone needs one. My "new" 20ga lifter as well as my lifter 16ga an 12ga will be available. Maybe we can find a sponsor.
David

Rich Anderson 04-05-2015 10:54 AM

David I have Mikes handicap system and will print it and bring it with me. I'll have a couple of Parker hammer guns and the Boss 20ga. So ok lets get the ball rolling.

Hammer gun event starting Friday am say 9:30 so everyone can have coffee and get to Drakes. Who's in? We have myself, Mr. Dwyer (:rotf:), Eric, Daryl, Mike Smith. How about it Mills?

Mills Morrison 04-05-2015 04:37 PM

Hope to be up Thursday

William Davis 04-05-2015 04:46 PM

Haley and I will be there Thursday early with several Parker Hammer guns.

William Davis

Rich Anderson 04-05-2015 04:48 PM

Eric and I will be there Thursday as will Daryl and Mike S. A little practice is in order as I haven't shot a clay target since last August. Was going today but 2 inches of snow mixed with rain:eek::banghead:

Mills Morrison 04-05-2015 06:49 PM

2 inches? I thought that was nothing for you all up there.

Rich Anderson 04-06-2015 08:37 AM

In January it's just a dusting in April it just plain sucks.

William Davis 04-06-2015 08:45 AM

Think I am going to load up some Paper Black Powder shells for the Lifter

William
