I am happy to know it helped someone, that's why I post it when I see it. I was not looking for powder but sat down after roof raking and there was PV's post staring me in the face so I wanted to let folks know.

Mark Garrett 02-13-2015 02:38 PM

Yes thanks , even though they sold out of Universal , I did get 8lbs of International .

Appreciate the heads up .

My order for Clays was not filled by Powder Valley. I was e-mailed a receipt after ordering 8lbs on line that showed in stock when I placed the order. These folks have a very poor system. I called and they said if your CC gets charged then your order will be honored otherwise your order is cancelled. Really!!!!

I really feel sorry for you guys on the eastern part of the country. I've been able to buy 8pounders right along - maybe not always what I wanted, but other stuff was there. Most the clays powders we couldn't get, but 700X, American Select, 800X, Promo was available.

John Dallas 03-06-2015 08:57 AM

Paul - Where did you find 800X in Mich?

William Davis 03-07-2015 07:54 AM

Shelves were full of powder at Green Top in Ashland VA this week. Hodgon and Alliant. Told me two truckloads.just arrived. Was able to get several I was short of, Unique Red Dot and Green Dot. Lot of Clays too..

Our club orders from Dawson in Ohio. We get about $7 to 8000 at a time. They don't sell retail.

William Davis 03-12-2015 05:46 PM

Went back to the very same gun shop that had all the powder this week. 7 days later no useful shotgun powders. Be a month before resupply they think

John Campbell 03-12-2015 06:09 PM

I feel your pain William. I stopped into my local shop a few weeks ago and saw that they had at least three 8lb jugs of Promo and lots of 1 lb cannisters of Red Dot. I felt secure. Then I stopped in Monday and ALL of it was gone!

On the upside, they did have two pallets of "green tip" 5.56mm ammo. Too bad I have no use for it. Come to think of it, neither does the ATF...

Fred Lowe 03-18-2015 11:13 AM

Hi just received an in stock notice for Midway that red dot is in stock

I have found Greentop as of late to be somewhat of a PITA . I liked it a lot better when the original family still owned it.

John Campbell 03-20-2015 02:04 PM

Just got an e-blast from Graf's. They are now importing Nobel powders... and two of them are good for shotgun loading. Of course, one of them is out of stock already.

But... for $18 or so you get 1.1 lbs of powder in the Euro/metric bottles. So, it's actually a bit cheaper.

Bruce Parham 03-22-2015 08:14 AM

Recobs had 700x in 1 and 4 lbs. as of yesterday at 6 pm. Ordered several 4 pounders and Winchester primers.

Harold Lee Pickens 04-12-2015 08:53 PM

at a local gun show in Washington, Pa, there was a pound of 7625 on the table for $24. The dealer said he had 3 more under the table and that would be the last he would ever have. I have bought off of him before and jokingly said, how much for all 4 pounds to a repeat customer--he said $80 for all 4--that's a good deal for 7625, so I now have 10 lbs. in the reloading cupboard, enough to last me a good while.

john pulis 04-13-2015 10:48 AM

Recobs had 8 lbs of 700x as of last nite.

Took a stroll through the new Jay's store in Gaylord, MI. They are obviously still filling the shelves, but I was surprised at the reloading supplies on hand

William Davis 05-14-2015 10:09 AM

Green top in Virginia looked like that this week, full shelves

Amazing thing they set up a bench with shotgun and rifle reloading tools and had a guy demonstrating, That’s a real change from no powder no supplies.

Found magnum shot today for $35.95.

7625 has become a bit of a cult powder that is duplicated in characteristic by many other powders. Is it discontinued or isn't it? In my opinion, "Who cares?"

William Davis 05-19-2015 08:44 PM

It's just fuel, long as the burn rate is similar and you consult reliable sources for charge weights which powder is not all that important. Plenty of good alternates out there

"Supposedly" they discontinued PB , SR4756 , SR4759 and SR7625 . If you look at Hodgdons web page they now show "PB" under their name as opposed to the IMR name .
