A late 12 ga Trojan with 28" barrels in very high original condition with about 50% bright colors. Only non original part was a crudely applied recoil pad but the butt was uncut. Dean Romig came to the rescue with a donation of an original Parker Trojan plate which is now perfectly nestled on it. Thanks, Dean!

Well my last one was a hammer gun I picked up yesterday at auction,it's my first Parker hammer...I paid little and I have no idea what I have yet,the pics were lousy:corn:

This 12-ga. 2-frame DH with 30" damascus barrels was a Lewis Class prize gun which I had won at the UP S X S Classic.

In 1901, a fellow by the name of R. L. Sopes of Westfield, MA ordered a DH two-barrel set, #104098. In 1902 he ordered another set of barrels for that gun, thus making a 3-barrel set. Then in 1911, Mr. Sopes ordered a new frame, stock and forend from the factory and had them fit one of those barrel sets to this new frame at a total cost of $37.50. This is that gun, #155290:

Glad I could help out in a small way Joe.

Best, Dean

The last Parker Bros. I bought was the 2-frame 12-/20-gauge, but it did get restocked by Craig Libhart last year --

Dave: I do like your stock. what is the length of pull to the front trigger???
David Lien

Dave Noreen 06-02-2013 09:50 PM

14 5/8 inch length-of-pull.

Bill Murphy 06-02-2013 10:27 PM

Dave Noreen, I examined a Libhart restocked Monte Carlo Parker at the Northeast Shoot. It also was very nice.

calvin humburg 06-03-2013 08:02 AM

Yes very nice. More pictures please. ch

Jack Cronkhite 06-03-2013 08:54 AM

I was thinking it will make a good Woodcock gun. I hear they are a good size in the U.P.

A few more pics here

Dean Romig 06-03-2013 10:01 AM

You might want to cut the barrels back about six inches to make a fast handling and effective woodcock gun.

Dwight the bird engraved on the breech balls is very nice.

Dwight that is the classiest 12 I've seen in a while. The engraving and straight grip make it pop.

Bill Murphy 06-05-2013 07:10 PM

Real nice gun. Share the PGCA letter with us when you get it.

Dave Suponski 06-05-2013 07:14 PM

The engraving motif on your wonderful BH is the same as the one I just sold right down to the breech balls. Only the second one I have seen. The B I just sold was in the 84,000 serial range.Congratulations on a fine Parker.

Bill Murphy 06-05-2013 07:24 PM

Dave, you had a bird on your left ball? I wasn't looking. You would have had to point it out. Yours was a great BH.

Dave Suponski 06-05-2013 07:30 PM

Yes Bill, The gun is exactly like Dwight's

dwight pugh 06-05-2013 07:53 PM

thanks all, will share the letter as soon as it arrives. i put some more pics in an album if anybody's interested.

I thought I remembered yours as having a PG stock?

Dave Suponski 06-05-2013 08:04 PM

Yes it is. I was talking about the engraving patterns.

is my Dad's 18" VH legal in the U.P.? I can swing but so far not hit anything with that. (I know, not much different than my results with any scatter gun).:)

Rich Anderson 06-08-2013 09:42 PM

Jack I do believe that the min barrel length is 18 inches.

Dennis V. Nix 06-08-2013 10:26 PM

Legally it is 16 inches for rifles and 18 inches for shotguns.

i got the letter on 88661 yesterday and am again amazed at some of this stuff. Chuck had to do some seriuos digging to find all this . aparently nobody wanted this gun for years or couldn"t afford a "two-hundred-dollar" gun at the time. hard to believe it sat in inventory at Bostwick's for almost six years before being returned the first time. gun remains identical to specs. thanks for your effort Chuck.

Yup Dwight, that letter was work! 5 Order Books and 1 stock book. My arms were getting tired from lifting those 20lb Order Books. Maybe I should charge extra if more than 1 book is involved:rolleyes:

Looks like I forgot to put the Stock Book # in the letter. I'll send a corrected letter out to you.
