Bob, i've seen a few of the local parker guys shoot up there, when I shoot with my dad..... Long as you have a gun(even a pump) and your not confined to a wheel chair, you probably have as good a chance to hit clays as most of those guys.

Tim

PS when do we need to be there?

Dave Suponski 12-28-2009 08:22 PM

Tim

WOW, Tim sounds like one of those Fox guys . . .

Dave Suponski 12-28-2009 10:00 PM

Allright! Another person of Polish decent at the shoot. This adds another whole level of excitement....:duck:

:duck::duck:......... but I got a parker as my rain gun...... doesn't that count for anything:knowbetter::knowbetter::knowbetter:

scott kittredge 12-29-2009 04:17 AM

we should be there to open around 7:30 or so and we can't started shooting (rules) before 9, so some where in there 9 to 9:30 before we get going i think. scott

bob weeman 12-29-2009 07:35 AM

I should there as well....hopefully it will be snowing so hard the targets will be out of sight just as I shoot....that way i can claim to break a few more than normal.....I will be bringing one parker and a lasagna......is there some place there to warm up the lasagna? If not I can leave the truck running with the lasgna sitting on the engine block......

Dean Romig 12-29-2009 07:59 AM

I hope it will be blowing hard enough to make the targets as exciting and challenging as last year's shoot.

Robin Lewis 12-29-2009 09:37 AM

Current weather prediction (for what its worth):
70% chance of rain or snow
High temp 40
wind from the NNE @ 11 mph

New Year's Day

What time will you gather?

Best, Austin

Dean Romig 12-29-2009 10:54 AM

Shooting commences at 9 a.m. Austin. Will Pam be coming this time?

E Robert Fabian 12-29-2009 06:08 PM

There is a gas grill, maybe Scott can stop by on his way home and check to see if has any gas.

scott kittredge 12-29-2009 06:15 PM

bob, yes i will, scott

Pete Lester 12-31-2009 07:20 AM

It seems the weather is conspiring against our gathering tomorrow. The weather forcast remains vague but some kind of wintry mix is going to happen and their will be some kind of accumulation.

http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll...S_01/712319799

Scott and I live near the club so we will be there no matter what. "Official" start time of festivities is 9AM.

Please use your best judgment if you have far to travel. If you can't make it due to weather we will understand (unless of course you were bringing food :))

Check this thread early tomorrow morning and we can dicuss the weather and what we are all going to do.

bob weeman 12-31-2009 07:27 AM

Hi Pete, I will still be showing up.....I have a ways to drive but the storm just provides a little adventure.

Dean Romig 12-31-2009 07:57 AM

There are people coming from long distances so if some lily-livered sissys are suggesting calling it off you better do it now . . . not tomorrow after people have left home at 5 a.m.

Pete Lester 12-31-2009 08:08 AM

Dean, I said I would be there. I think it is good to know what is going on vis a vis the weather. Lilly livered sissy's, oh really. I want to add that this year if there is a tie for high score the winner will be decided by a duel (however I am sure you'll be safe from having to face the prospect of being in such a situation). :rotf:

Dean Romig 12-31-2009 08:37 AM

Ooooo . . . I'll take up that gauntlet. Name your game - Trap or Skeet?

Just sayin'....

That's just cruel . . .

Pete Lester 12-31-2009 09:09 AM

Dean, I am scared, real scared :rotf: This is not golf, you don't get a handicap! See you on the trap field :bigbye:

(2002 last year I shot registered trap)

2002 NH State Trap Team

16 YARDS HANDICAP DOUBLES ALL AROUND
NAME AVERAGE AVERAGE AVERAGE COMBINED AVERAGE RANK

PETER LESTER 95.570 88.560 91.430 275.560 91.853 5th

PS. Look out for Scott, rumor has it he is going to shoot trap with a 10ga :-)

Dean Romig 12-31-2009 09:24 AM

Pete, that's impressive - congratulations!

But don't worry about me . . . I'll be alright... Trapshooters! . . . honestly :corn:

Pete Lester 12-31-2009 09:31 AM

LOL!!!! Dean the really funny part of it is I made the NH state team 5 years in a row shooting an 870 Trap. It was just hilarious to win shootoffs and purses against the guys shooting Krieghof's and Perazzi's. One time when heading to the line for a shootoff in the NH championship the guy gave me crap about my gun in attempt to psyche me out. Fortunately I beat him and apologized to him for it as I knew he could use the purse for his gun payments :rotf:

Seriously as I entered my late 40's and my eyes changed my scores went down. Scott told me it was because of too much Viagra :rotf:

Dean Romig 12-31-2009 09:54 AM

Yes, as the eyes grow longer it changes the focal point on the retina :D

bob weeman 12-31-2009 12:36 PM

you guys sound like you can really shoot! Everyone may need to look away as I shoot...this is my first year back shooting clay pigeons in probably 20 years.......prior to that it was just a few shells a year bird hunting......maybe I should just run the trap! Seriously, I am just getting back into it and am looking forward to shooting again. Any (well almost any) tips will be gladly welcomed.......

Dean Romig 12-31-2009 12:50 PM

This crown doesn't give any tips or advice . . . we just laugh at all the misses and have a ball.
But seriously, all of us are interested in helping each other if we see a shooting fault. I know I have plenty - just ask Anderson or anybody else I have shot with.

Dave Suponski 12-31-2009 01:08 PM

Yup.....But its kinda like this....:dh:

Pete Lester 12-31-2009 01:32 PM

Scott and I just got back from the club. We cleaned up the shotgun house a little, moved some gun racks inside, moved cases of targets to the various houses and brought the steamed dog machine down from the clubhouse. We'll have coffee and dogs at a minimum. Hmmmmm......somebody should bring some creamer and sugar cause I can't remember if I saw any there or you'll drink it black.

Since club rates for non-member trap and skeet is $4.50 I decided to round it up to $5 per round. The .50 difference per round goes winner take all for high score on 100 targets 50 trap/50 skeet. Scores are to be kept via the honor system. Ties will be broken via fist fight.

First shots can be fired at 9AM. Facilities will be open no later than 8AM and probably sooner.

Jim Pasman 12-31-2009 01:37 PM

Weather and travel update

According to NECN, the weather tomorrow morning will be suitable for more than dog sleds. I'm planning to join and bringing a lasagna, plastic forks and paper plates...oh yeah, a couple of 12ga - one for nasty weather and one for less nasty. See you tomorrow morning.

Robin Lewis 12-31-2009 02:05 PM

I'm looking forward to this, the Crockpot is on and the house smells good (pulled bar-b-que beef). The down side is the police car in the driveway across the street. My neighbor's house was broken into this morning; I know they took his safe but I don't know what else.

Strange that nobody saw anything? All the neighbors are home today! I drove by twice this morning and noticed they were out but didn't see anyone around. He is a young "unemployed white construction worker" with two young girls, 5 & 3 and they are almost always around.

Just so you don't get the wrong idea, I said "white construction worker" in reference to Obama's stimulus money being directed AWAY from that group as per Charlie Rangel and Robert Reich discussion in congress. My attempt at sarcasm.

Now I need to worry when I leave the house!

scott kittredge 12-31-2009 03:15 PM

pete, remember it is not the size of the gun, :nono: it is how you shoot it  , i'll be there around 7 am, yes with my 10's  scott

Dean Romig 12-31-2009 03:18 PM

That's really unfortunate for your neighbor as well as for the whole neighborhood. And if you rig shotguns around inside your 'castle' (a man's home is his castle) and a criminal breaks in and is maimed or worse . . . you lose everything you own to him, his family and the lawyers who prosecute you. I hope your gunsafe is a strong one and is permanently anchored in place.

My daughter, over in Derry, was broken into last July and the SOB's took everything of value possible. The most devastating thing was that they got $15K in family jewels given her from her husband's grandmother-in-law.
The police caught the creeps in early November but everything had already been fenced. They needed money to help a friend who was in jail on a murder rap . . .

Pete Lester 01-01-2010 06:06 AM

It's on!

scott kittredge 01-01-2010 06:44 AM

it is still dark i;ll be there by 7:20 scott

Dean Romig 01-01-2010 07:23 AM

We'll be there. I'm glad I was able to shame you into that decision
