I would check the match between barrels and frame, when assembled. If frame is higher then barrels, they have probably been buffed out and engraving removed. If barrels and frame are even then they probably were not engraved from the begining.

Craig, it certainly would not be a deal killer for me. We have seen variations from the norm on guns all the way up to the A1S Grade. With Parkers we 'never say never'. Take a look at Parker number 168304, The Czar's Parker if you want to see a couple of variations, and that one is an A1S.
